(from Google)I really liked the sand. What I didn't like was that there were a lot of logs along the water's edge; since I have small children, I don't consider it a very safe place for them to roam freely in the water.
Beautiful lake, but sad to see everyone parking right on the water, leaving tracks, trash and oil all over the beach. Hopefully the community will work together to treat it better.
I visited this place about 15 years ago, and back then the lake was full of water. Now it’s almost unrecognizable. The landscape has changed dramatically—its unusual scenery is a stark reminder of environmental impact. It’s a completely different lake now. You can drive right down close to where the water used to be, and there’s no sound of crashing waves anymore.
Beautiful lake! Definitely a must see! You cam drive onto the sand but recommend med tires/trucks big rocks and a low dip upon entrance to beach area. They do have a very small parking lot.
Great Lake to visit. We come here often. The people that do the land management are very kind and helpful. The lake itself is clean and beautiful. You have access to picnic tables, grass areas to set up chairs and relax. There is a smaller area that’s roped off for swimming that many younger kids enjoy. We prefer to go down by the rocks to fish and paddle board. Our family can easily spend 10 hours here without being bored. The kids catch and release tons of fish and we can float and paddle board without much interference from boaters. There is a lot of boat activity but they generally stay off to one side of the lake and away from the area that most swimmers are in. The parking lot does fill up fast, because it’s mostly for boaters, but many will go park in the hatchery and walk down. They have a real restroom so you can change and use the bathroom, no need to worry about portapotties. It’s a wonderful place to be.
