(from Google)Stand Proud has had such a momentous impact on my life and my dog's life that I honestly can't figure out where to start in this review. My new dog was *incredibly* dog reactive; going outside was stressful, scary, and draining for both of us. We had to avoid every dog we saw by crossing the street or off-roading into the bushes. We dreaded every corner, and there are a lot of those in the city! As a new dog owner, I could feel our world getting quickly smaller as the number of activities we could do together became more and more limited. I also began to feel increasingly isolated as I felt unable to ask anyone else to walk or watch her. Other issues included apartment barking, fence guarding, and leash pulling. TLDR: Super dog-reactive dog. My overarching goal in sending her to Stand Proud was that she be able to participate in life with me. The idea of taking her out in public with ease and comfort felt like succchh a far-fetched dream. Fast forward to about a month post-training camp and the results are beyond my wildest dreams!! We are walking by dogs on the sidewalk without problem - crazy! No more leash pulling, avoiding dogs, fear, or anxiety. She's even joining me for outdoor dining, which I never thought would be possible. She has left so confident and sure of herself, and, as a byproduct (coupled with all the controlled exposure), her barking has substantially subsided. TLDR: Incredible results!! I was so nervous to send my dog away, and took a lot of comfort in all the reviewers saying how excited their dogs were to see their trainers again after camp. I can absolutely corroborate this. My pup loves all of her trainers and watching them work together in one-on-one lessons, I can tell how loved she was and how much she trusts them. TLDR: I wholeheartedly trust the entire staff with my dog, and she loves and trusts them too. Okay and lastly, I want to share my experience with Stand Proud as a business. Danielle and Brandon run a well-oiled ship! I've been blown away by their communication and dedication throughout the training process. They've truly gone above and beyond. I live 5 hours away in San Francisco and feel incredibly supported despite the distance. They're always reachable for questions and zoom trainings, and even made a trip to the city for another one-on-one lesson! I wanted to find trainers that I could easily learn from, and I absolutely found that at Stand Proud. All the trainers we work with are patient, kind, gentle, clear, communicative, knowledgeable, and caring. Stand Proud gave us the ability to access our whole world. I am beyond grateful for what they do. I can't recommend them enough!
We recently enrolled our dog Mocha in Stand Proud’s 3 week board and train program, and I am not exaggerating when I say that it has changed our lives! We had been struggling with some minor dog reactivity issues since we adopted him. Unfortunately, his behavior was only getting worse as time went on, so I knew we were in need of professional help. After consulting with Danielle and Brandon about it, they suggested that the 3 week board and train program would be the best option for him, and they were so right! While he was in the program, we received a few pictures and short videos of him with training updates on what they were working on. I was mind-blown by what they had him doing in such a short amount of time! Danielle also sent us some material to read up on so that we knew what to expect upon his return, how to implement the same routine at home, information on tools and equipment, and so much more! After Mocha graduated from his board and train, we had an hour-long pick up lesson where we were able to see all of the things he had learned. The program also came with 3 follow up lessons, which were so incredibly helpful! Since Mocha had conquered his reactivity issues and was doing so well with his basic obedience, our main focus for the follow up lessons was working on getting him fully ecollar trained so we can feel confident taking him on off leash adventures with us. Now that we’ve finished all of our follow up lessons, we’re definitely taking full advantage of all of the group classes and pack walks they offer to help keep up on his training! Mocha’s time with Stand Proud has opened up the door to so many opportunities for him that I never would have thought were possible. We’re now able to take him to so many places on the busiest of weekend days with max distractions all around and feel assured knowing that we have the proper tools, techniques, and understanding to help him through any situation. It makes me so happy knowing that he now gets to live his best doggy life! I will forever be grateful to the entire team at Stand Proud!
We adopted our dog who’s gone thru a board an train with Stand Proud. We are so so happy with all the follow up classes- dog walking and group classes. All the trainers are awesome they really do care. I can tell by how excited our dog is when he sees any of the trainers. They also off daycare and boarding. We highly recommend and appreciate all of help. Thank you!!
I signed my pup, Jupiter a boxer/pit mix, up for a 4 week board and train in November 2025 because of some anxiety inducing (for both of us!) behaviors emerging and some excitability issues that I just could not get control of on on my own. I was so scared to let my best friend go for that long, but it turned out to be the best decision of my life. For both of us. Jupiter is a classic over greeter, jumping up, pulling towards people and dogs alike. Always pulled on the leash no matter what kind of harness or leash I tried. Then as she got older and had a few intense fence fights w dogs at my apartments dog park she very quickly became so reactive that it extended to every dog we passed while out on walks or encountered at the park. Wild barking, lunging. I could tell she was constantly on edge. She's super high energy, so I really needed to be able to get her out for walks and play, but it turned into not feeling like I could leave the apartment with her for 2-3 weeks before I decided I had to do something. Stand Proud came highly recommended from 2 separate friends , so once I talked w Danielle and met w Brandon to explain our situation to them I knew they were the perfect fit for us. I can’t say enough about how great EVERY SINGLE PERSON at Stand Proud was before and during training and continue to be in the months since. They posted THE BEST pictures weekly of Jupiter's progress which really eased my anxiety (and I could tell from those pics Jupiter was having a blast) I honestly feel like they’re family now. Both Jupiter and I LOVE Abby and Alexia and I look up to them like mentors. Jupiter is actually kind of obsessed w them both. I love the bond they’ve formed and how much that has encouraged my bond w my dog to grow. I cannot believe the change in my girl. She is still her wild, goofy, happy self, but now we both have the tools for a balanced life that includes obedience, coexistence, great leash habits, much better greeting habits whether we’re out in public, at a park or at home (and are still learning more all the time through the group classes). I have gained so much confidence and peace of mind!! Jupiter is happier and getting to do all the things she deserves to have in her life. I’m doing things w my dog I never thought we’d be able to do! I’m crying writing this bc it’s been such a gift. Cannot thank EVERYONE at Stand Proud enough. ❤️ Danielle, Brandon and fam, Angela, Debbie, Andrew, Abby and Alexia. You’re all my heroes. Thank you, thank you, thank you !!!
Last year I adopted a bully mix that was found on the streets. She was great with people, but extremely reactive with dogs. I have an RV and wanted a travel companion, but I knew she couldn't handle being in an RV Park with other dogs. I sent her to Stand Proud boarding school for a month. With the boarding school, follow up classes, and pack walks, we were able to spend a month in an RV park this summer. She loves all of the trainers at Stand Proud. It was the best investment for a happy life together.
