Darlene's Dog Patch

Normally we like the services that Darlene's provides, from grooming to boarding. This last time was off. We noticed after taking off after taking off our dog's harness her collar was missing and while going through my banking app that I was over charged for services. My husband picked up our dog so he figured the amount was correct. I figured honest mistake I'll go talk to Darlene and get it corrected and ask about the collar. When I arrived I'm greeted like always and I ask if Darlene is around I had a couple of questions. I asked about the collar and was told they washed it, dried it and put it back on my dog. I said ok I'll keep looking around my home for it. Then I ask about the over charge and this is when the nice Darlene went away. She informed me prices changed last year. I said ok I just wished I'd known, she said boarding went from $20 to $25 and washing & nail trim went from $30 to $50. Again I said ok, but then I did the math. My dog was boarded for 7 days ( $175), the grooming was $50, we were charged $291. I explained the math is wrong and she became agitated about this. I told her my total would have been $225. She pulls out her leger and says I think I charged you for 8 days not 7. I again told her that math is wrong for the total to be $291. Darlene then decided to tell me my dog barked the whole time she was there and a lady from the back comes up to list to the conversation to say most places charge way more to board a dog as big as her (she's a mid-sized dog). Asked if I ever boarded anywhere else I said no. No one mentioned my dog being an issue at pick up, just when I let them know I was charged incorrectly. Which I would have conceded as an honest mistake if Darlene would have just looked at or did the math for herself and said my mistake here's the difference. She didn't, she became annoyed that I even asked about the mistakes and then told me they wouldn't board my dog anymore. I always thought Ms. Darlene was a nice lady which is why I went to talk to her about my concerns instead of being confrontational. Its too bad it had to end like this. She did refund the amount I was overcharged. $25 * 7= $175; $25 * 8 = $200; $175 + $50= $225; $200 + $50 = $250, not $291.

Darlene does a wonderful job grooming my hard to handle pomeranian. He looks, feels and smells amazing after a visit to Darlene's Dog Patch. I highly recommend Darlene!

I was very disappointed with the lackluster, nonchalant customer service experience I had with my Cavapoo. Darlene cut one of her long ,luxurious eyelashes, her underbelly was not trimmed and a portion of the 2nd w/o telling me. Most importantly, during a heat advisory my fur baby was not given ANY water, though I sent her with a cold bottled water for over 5 hours! Darlene had a poor attitude when I addressed my concerns. I don’t trust her and neither should you. We will not be returning.

Darlene's Dog Patch came very highly recommended in Arlington. So I took Bamboo for his 1st visit, and it was a success!!! I moved and had to switch the only groomer we've known after almost 2 years. He has horrible separation anxiety(He's "supposed" to be my "ESA!!!"🙄🤣). So much that he usually has to crate-dry, even after his med! To top it off, I'm very particular about his cut! Needless to say, I was a Lil nervous. One, because not everyone is familiar with cutting Sheepadoodles, and two, It's like dropping you kids off on the first day of kindergarten, but I took the leap! Well... I couldn't be happier!!! There are so many great things to say about Darlene's... #1 It was so easy to get an appointment fast! #2 Drop off time was flexible, and drop off was quick and easy(especially for a 1st visit)!!! #3 She asked detailed questions about his cut and did exactly what we decided on. #4 GREAT PRICING!!! Collars, leashes, and treats are reasonable, too!!!👍💲❤️ #5 Most Important** She said he did great and had no problem drying him normally. This is the first time he didn't seem so anxious when I picked him up, and he was at Darlene's longer than he was at the old groomers. *DISCLAIMER* I am definitely NOT COMPLAINING about the time it took! I’ve been taking my dog, Lola, to Darlene for about a year now and she does wonderful work. Lola always looks great and has never had a bad haircut, and she’s not scared to go see Miss Darlene. I feel very comfortable leaving her there in good hands. She’s always done pretty quickly as well. Highly recommend!
