Took my grand dog in for an abscess on her paw. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and caring. We received great care! We got a call the next day checking on her which we really appreciated. Highly recommend if your pet needs care!

Great veterinary clinic with reasonable prices and experienced, knowledgeable doctors. I’ve brought my cat both for an emergency visit and for routine annual checkups. Wait times can be long for non-urgent cases, but the quality of care is absolutely worth it.

The only reason this place is getting one star is because thats the lowest I can do. First off, let me start by saying that this place truly cares about one thing, MONEY! My 13 year old chihuahua was having some very concerning symptoms and he needed immediate medical care. I brought him here they were telling me anaphalaxis and they need to keep him for the day and I can come back later to pick him up. First price i was told was $450. I came back in and asked the front desk what all was included in that $450, she said i could wait in the room to discuss it with the doctor. By the time I went back out which was 20 minutes later. I asked the girl at the front desk if the doctor was coming. She said, "oh he hasn't come to you yet?" I said no. Fast forward to maybe 5 minutes later, she came to the room and told me the doctor already started running his bloodwork. I never gave anybody the okay to start that. Then, they come in with a $900 price quote and insist i apply for the credit. I argued that I never agreed to any price at all in the first place. It took a bunch of he said, she said until they finally just let me leave. Now, I wouldnt write this bad review if I didnt take my dog to a different vet less than an hour later and they immediately found a 4.32 centimeter tumor pushing on his organs and stomach and the quality of life is very questionable (no upselling, no telling me surgery is the best route to take, just pure honesty and a veterinarian that truly seemed concerned for skips well being.) In other words without telling me, he told me with his energy that surgery would be an unlikely success. I had to put him down.. but what angers me so much, is this place could've done a better job at diagnosis and also being more communicative to me. You are telling me you didnt see a tumor on the ultrasound on a 14 pound dog which is considered a big tumor for a dog his size and you were just going to pump him with meds that have nothing to do with what's going on? Ill let this place keep their 1 star because they at least sent the bloodwork to the other vet that I took him too. I dont mind spending money on my dog but dont be car salesmen demanding I sign up for your payment plan when you got his diagnosis completely wrong. If i stayed at this vet, skip would still be dying and I would be in the hole a grand. My attached pictures are from the new vet I saw immediately after. Dallas Animal Urgent Care can shut down and never come back into veterinary care.

I brought my older dog into the Preston Rd clinic with a lump on his leg that had popped up. Being a vet tech for many years myself, I am not at all comfortable being on the other side of it with my own animal. I want to say this clinic is amazing, and I know enough to be able to say that with certainty! I have had to be in many clinics where that was not the case. However, Dallas Animal Urgent Care actually surpassed my every expectation. Specifically Dr. Bertch and Garret the technician obtained a fine needle aspirate sample and helped me send in a cytology for the mass on my dog’s front leg. They were both so nice and my dog “Patches” loved them!!!! This was critical, due to the wait time it took to get in to see my favorite oncologist, because they are so busy. By the time of our oncology appointment we had good valid results from the cytology and our diagnosis could fast track forward to surgery!!! It was good news on that oncology appointment that the sarcoma was still fairly small and likely had not metastasized yet. The oncologist felt it was likely that surgery itself would be curative in this case, because we acted quickly enough. Dr. Bertch rolled with it and totally jumped in and helped us make excellent use of our wait time for oncology. Dr. Bertch, Garret, and the entire staff were great with my dog and also with me! Again, even as a vet tech l was insecure and I know that I make a terrible client!! I cannot thank them enough for their kindness, professionalism, and profound knowledge of veterinary medicine. Eternally grateful!! This was my second visit and the first was just as wonderful with Dr. Gentry and the technician Michael. I had a rescue cat that collapsed on the way in. About 2 hours later I walked out with him sitting up and purring. There are no words to describe how wonderful they were! I highly recommend this clinic to anyone in urgent need!!

In the last year, we've visited the office on Preston Road multiple times. Every time, no matter the pet or the circumstances, I feel our pet was treated with love and my husband I were treated with respect. Our most recent visit was an initial checkup on a puppy we had just adopted from DAS. Deborah, Jessica, Stephany, and Karen were all wonderful. They were just as excited as we were about our new family member, and I really appreciated how knowledgeable they were about puppy things. I had no idea was I was getting into, so their advice really calmed my nerves and probably made our new baby's life a lot easier. Because it wasn't an emergency, we did have a bit of a wait, but that's to be expected. I would never want my regular, non-emergency visit to come before an animal that needed immediate help. I trust the team at Dallas Animal Urgent Care to know the difference and to be able to prioritize patients so that those who need help get it in the appropriate order.
