LYNN HAVEN RAILS TO TRAILS - Ray Wishart Trailhead

I actually needed the one bike stand on the segment I did today. My rear tire was low. The pump was completely destroyed and missing hoses. Parked at 231. The bike stand was about 1/4 mile up the trail. No other bike stands available up to hwy 77. Stopped there and went back to 231.

Wow! Perfect place to have a walk or bike ride in my case. The paths are clear and well marked. The scenery is stunning. The peace and quiet is remarkable. I’m so proud that we have this beautiful area to feature not just the gorgeous beaches but the diverse and healthy environment of NW Florida. Well done Bay County!!

While in Panama City for a work conference, decided to take in a run on Lynn Haven rail trail. What a gem! Very serene and natural buffer around the trail itself. Several parking spaces at the trailhead right off US 231. Highly recommend it for a run, hike or even a casual stroll if you are in the area.

A nice path to bicycle, rollerblade, or jog on. The pathway is paved the entire way and is nice and wide. There are road crossings though so be careful as not all cars stop at the flashing yellow lights. I was lucky to see some wildlife including a blue heron and a turtle crossing the path. I would love it if they planted some palm trees along the sides to make it a little nicer looking, the plant life is a bit boring. Could be improved visually a lot.

This is a very nice trail. The road surface is smooth enough to skate but there are some areas that a tracked vehicle ran back and forth on the asphalt that were repaired and can cause some ripple. There's a repair/water station at Mosley. Has an air pump and some basic tools. There's dirt parking there but I don't think it's official. If there's anything to complain about here it's the confusion the street signs make from car drivers. There's signs everywhere and blinking lights but no clear direction on what the drivers are meant to do. Sometimes cars stop. Other times they blast past. Mostly they slow down in confusion and just delay you getting across the street. Other areas have crosswalks that clearly state cars are to STOP for pedestrians in crosswalk. Brilliant! The signs are really too much. It's like someone got paid by the sign. I think there's a sign every 1/4 mile. I like the rabbits and birds that populate the sides of the trail during the day. It's nice.
