We took our dog for a morning walk. He is very reactive so it was nice that there are enough trails that you dont pass too many other people. Very nice scenery and a parking lot.

I had a great little saturday afternoon hike around these trails. I practically had it all to myself. Could do in 30 min but i looped a couple of times. There's a porta potty a 2 min walk from the parking lot. Very clean. I also discovered that you can get into Duke Forest from the same parking lot (though the signs for that park of Duke Forest say it's closed mon-fri). So I hiked that as well which was really nice and secluded for a Sunday morning. I loved that I could walk along the stream the whole way.

Hollow Rock Nature Park offers 3-4 non-hilly walking trails averaging under 1.0 miles each. Located only 7 minutes from downtown Durham, this park is great for after-work hikes. Free and ♿️ parking available.

Nice and easy trail in the woods. There are a few bridges with smaller streams based on rainfall. Worth it for a quick walk with very little elevation. *** note about pictures** someone posted Mountain View pictures tagged to this trail. That is a separate park almost two hours away. That’s Hanging Rock State Park

That’s a little wild little natural park near Chapel Hill. I am happy to spend 30 min here before or after work to sort myself. The bench are plenty and the signs are clear. Well maintained but pretty wild and natural place. Love it. There is a river just 2 min away from parking lot, just cross the meadow. An overlook with nice view where you stand on rocks enjoying the river curving below. There is only very few traffic, if you don’t want to see people but only mother nature, that’s the place to go. Note: there are wild trails at the turning point of the loop without official safety guarantee but pretty fun to explore.
