K9 King Dog Grooming & Boarding.

I have been bringing my dog here for 2 years now and the employees and Chris are amazing. I was previously taking my dog to VID Dog Grooming and Wagging Tails in Brownsville before and these other groomers would give my dog razor burn and my dog would always come back depressed for weeks from these places. K9 King Grooming has never burned my dog and my dog has never been depressed when I pick him up. I just recently moved to Edinburg, TX and refuse to try any other groomer even though I now live an hour away. Chris has offered to pick-up my dog and accommodate for my busy schedule so that my dog can get the services he needs. It is actually ridiculous how some people can rate this place so badly when all they do is care for our best friends and give them the treatment they absolutely deserve. I trust this place with my dog and will not ever take my dog anywhere else. Excellent service always and they always work with my schedule as I do not get out of work till 7PM, but they close at 6PM and will take care of my dog till I am able to pick him up for no extra charge. BEST THERE IS PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!

My dogs came out smelling horrible and the kennels were wiped off like they were not taken out. The dogs were really hungry and thirsty when we picked them up. Food bins did not look like they were properly fed for the amount of days they stayed. Never again. Would not recommend! Update: 8-9-2022 7:47 pm. Got a call back from Chris stating his side and making accommodations for the review.For this I would give 3.5 but will leave 4 stars. I encourage local businesses and tend to leave good reviews for the most part. I understand my dogs have not been there before and it was their first time. It was also their first time at PetSmart , weekend vet, and blue ribbon at one point and have not had any issues. I had just taken my dogs to get groomed before dropping them off at k9 King. Got them special shampoo due to her coat (furmintator) and deep conditioner for her coat ( Akita Inu- breed). Upon picking up my dogs , paws and fur was stiff and yellow with urine. Chris did take the dog back to rinse as it was clearly brought to his attention. You should also understand my frustration and my side as well. I took my dogs to shower immediately getting home. Unfortunately it was too late to take to Petsmart and did not want the kennels and dogs smelling horrible in the home. Rinsed kennels and showered dogs. I don't think I should elaborate on the way the dogs should be upon pick up. I thought I would pick them up as the way they were dropped off. It was just not to my liking or standards. My dogs were still alive and hope they were not left unattended with other breeds. My female is not neutered and had to pay extra for her not to be neutered. I appreciate your service and thank you for watching them for 4 days. My pets were groomed on 8-2-2022 and were dropped off on 8-6-2022. The furmintator is done monthly. I have changed my rating due to the fact of Chris taking the initiative to call back and explain. Unfortunately service was just not up to my standards

I became horribly I'll to the point being immediately hospitalized, I panicked because I live alone with my dog (Honey) and my nearest family is 4 states away. I called Animal Control (no help), then I called the vet to see if they can do something, they told me to call K9. He is usually Honey's groomer but I forgot he also boards. I made the call, he went to my home, got my babygirl and took her in within an hour with her food. He cared for her for the week I was hospitalized, he kept me posted on her status and when it was all over, he gave a her a sweet bath. There's isn't enough to say for what he's done for me. He went above and beyond the call of duty. Honey is the closest to a daughter I have and I will always trust K9 to know that my baby is safe and sound even in the most dire situations. Now she is home with her Papa again.... snoozing. Thank you, thank you, a million times!

Loved this place! I brought my maltipoo in for a grooming and was completely satisfied with the results. My dog usually comes out shaking and scared after getting groomed but was happy when I picked him up. The owner truly loves what he does and treats the dogs very well. Would recommend this place to anyone!
