One of my favorite hikes here. It’s an in and out and there is one flatter option and one with hills up and down. Takes you around 2-3 hours. Great for talking to friends and enjoying some views over the city.

Mandeville Canyon Trail in Brentwood surprised me with quiet fire‑road paths lined by big homes and native plants. I hiked in late afternoon and saw lovely canyon views, birds, and a peaceful sense of space. Far fewer hikers here than nearby popular trails. The branching trails give a sense of exploration. Great if you want greenery without the bustle

Great hike and easy for those not looking for something too challenging. Has awesome views of the ocean and panoramic views of downtown as well once you get up high enough. Best thing is that it’s dog friendly!

This is a great hike because it isn't a loop. You can set your goal by mileage or time. If you know you have an hour, you can go up 30 minutes and back 30. Also amazing about this hike is that there is an easy trail and a hard one. And you can hope between both since they run parallel. Final bit is that they allow dogs! So bring your pup and enjoy the SM mountains. One of my favorite hikes in LA Just a note, it gets HOT. No shade on this hike. So bring water and Sun Screen! Also, it's a dusty trail, so maybe don't bring your new training shoes. Lastly, they also allow mountain bikers so just be aware that sometimes they come bowling down the trail.
