Best Friends Pet Grooming

The absolute BEST! I used to take my baby Carmela to [insert big box pet groomer] for a bath, ears and nails. She was safe, but not happy. She cried and tried to stall every time. Those places gave her (and me) the ick. I decided to switch to this gem and it has been amazing. Jess & team are the warmest, loveliest folks who do meticulous work. Carm RUNS into the shop. Today I picked her up and she refused to leave. I had to carry her out. They even bedazzle her. My son LOVES it. We’re obsessed!!

I chose this place not because of the great grooming, you can find that around... but because of the leadership and staff. I trust the owner and felt comfortable leaving my mini poodle in her care. They didn't awesome job , and I will surely be going back. Thank you Jessica!

I called a week in advance to schedule a Halloween grooming appt for my poodle. I spoke with the groomer, Jessica, who was free to groom my poodle in my requested style for the holiday season. When I went to drop off my poodle for her appt, Jessica had shared she researched some ideas that would go great with the style I had requested. My poodle came out amazing and was a huge hit at the Yonkers Downtown Pet Parade, she was also featured on their ig post too! Thank you so much to Jessica, and her team, for the fantastic Halloween look on my poodle!

I highly recommend Jessie the groomer she’s simply the best groomer out there ! I have a 12 year old Yorki poo with bad back legs and she’s so gentle with him and gives him the best cuts ! and I also have a 3 year old cockapoo and gives her the best cut . She’s loving and caring if you want your fur babies well taking care of while at the groomers JESSIE is your girl ! I promise you won’t be disappointed I have recommended her to my friends and they all have been very happy . I won’t take my fur babies anywhere else ! And I have had in the past taking them elsewhere and my 12 year old fur baby has come out of there limping and never has with Jessie ! Jessie you are amazing groomer

This should have been a 5 Star Review because my almost 4-year-old Goldendoodle, Luchi, has had his grooming done ONLY at Best Friends Pet Grooming in Scarsdale, NY, since I got him in 2021. Today, for the First time, I got him groomed elsewhere. This is because of the horrible cut he got on December 10, 2024. And my subsequent feeling of being both UNSEEN and LET DOWN by this business. Luchi was going to Philadelphia to be with my daughter through the holidays. As usual, I took him for his regular grooming with Stephanie at Best Friends. Between her and Katie, Luchi always got a good cut with the rounded Teddy-bear look that we adore! This time I expected nothing different. But when they brought my pup out I could not believe how badly they had trimmed the fur on his face. His face looked pinched and miserable, shorn and wolfish, not at all like the sweet Teddy-bear we were expecting. When asked what had happened Stephanie insisted she had given him his usual cut. I could not believe it! I was feeling so stunned I could not argue with her. it was just before the holidays when lots of pictures would be taken. I was in shock. I took pictures of my Luchi Boy in his new Christmas shirt when I came home and the pictures speak for themselves. My dog looks miserable in them. When I later called the shop the next day for an explanation, I was brushed off with a bland answer, denying anything at all had gone wrong. When I insisted things had gone Horribly wrong there was no forthcoming apology. More arguments came about how it was only hair and would grow back. That is 100% right and I would have found it acceptable if someone had come forward to apologize for the mistake. I had to remind Katie I had always been a good customer. To her credit, she ultimately uttered the word "Sorry" without owning up to any errors on Stephanie's part. To date, Stephanie has not apologized for that horrible job she did with a sweet pup who has been her regular client since he was born. The pictures are here to highlight my point. The first two are images from December 10th, 2024. The 3rd from September 2024. The 4th from May 2024. The last one from April 2024. Anyone can see the cut is totally off in the December pictures and my poor baby looks nothing like his usual self. How can I continue to give my business to this place which does not respect me as a client or credit me with the sense to distinguish between a good cut and a truly bad one?!! And to think an apology was all that was needed, given my long history with them. I have a beautifully trained dog with a loving disposition and I am the most cooperative of clients who never makes a fuss. One time I was called and told my pup was ready for pickup, when, actually, he wasn't and I had to waste a good 2 hours waiting in the neighborhood because I do not live close to the shop. I did not hold it against them, I did not complain at all. This time they did something very wrong but refused to acknowledge it and to this day I have not received any explanation. I feel baffled. I always knew they are a busy place and have no time to interact with their canine clients. I never saw Stephanie talk lovingly to any of the dogs being groomed there. My baby would always whine when I left him there but I kept going back because they gave him the rounded cut we love. I bet you they have even forgotten this happened to my Luchi because they are so, so busy they do not care. Well. I do not need to either. There are several good groomers in this area. No, they are not the only ones.
