While visiting Greenville, I sat at the bar at Soby's for brunch. I started off with their Classic Bloody Mary. They make the own Bloody Mary mix and the blue cheese stuffed olives, and strip of bacon made this drink so good. The bartender recommend the shrimp and grits, since this was my first time here. They were so delicious. If you are in Greenville, I highly recommend eating at Soby's.

We went Soby's for my birthday last night. We had great service from everyone. We were greeted with a smile and shown our table quickly. Since it was restaurant week we tried the $40 three course meal. The She Crab soup is not to be missed. Crumble those delicious biscuits into the soup if you want to elevate the flavor. My wife had the steak and I had the shrimp and grits. All dishes were spectacular. The atmosphere was electric since it was a Saturday night. We highly recommend this restaurant and will return.

I came here for an anniversary brunch with my husband and the service was phenomenal. We picked Soby’s after seeing it was listed as Michelin recommended restaurant and I’m so glad we made the reservation. We were seated quickly, had to wait minimal time (we had a reservation right when the restaurant opened). Everyone was so nice. I also liked that it was a place you could bring your whole family including children, since I did hear the hosts offering children’s menu’s to some family’s. Our waiter Brian (I hope I’m remembering his name correctly) was so attentive, had so much to share about the history of the restaurant and was incredibly accommodating. We even received personalized menus that said Celebrating 7 Womderful Years, a complimentary truffle dessert and we were gifted the Soby’s cookbook which was signed by the staff wishing us a happy anniversary. I couldn’t have had a better experience. The ability to make us feel so special is something I’ll never forget and is what will be the reason we will return to Soby’s anytime we are in Greenville. I was encouraged to try the shrimp and grits as well as the crab cakes, and what was so cool was that they actually gave me both entrees for the price of one by giving half orders for each so I didn’t have to choose between the two. The food was amazing, no notes. My husband had the chicken fried steak and I was trying to steal from his plate the whole time. If you go definitely order the sticky pecan bread, we fell in love at first bite. If you haven’t been here, make your reservation immediately. This restaurant really is a step above the rest. The team and chefs are great.

We had a reservation for 10 people at 8:00 p.m. We arrived 10 minutes early, yet we were seated 25 minutes after our reservation time. A 25-minute wait with a reservation is unacceptable. After being seated, we waited another 30–35 minutes just to receive bread. Nearly 1 hour and 10 minutes later, we finally received our first dish: cured salmon tartare. It was served warm, which was very disappointing, as tartare is typically cold. It was bad enough that we didn't eat it. The waitress noticed the untouched plate but didn’t say anything or ask if there was an issue—poor customer service. The pumpkin soup was delicious and, honestly, the best dish of the night. Next, we received crab cakes that were almost burnt, dry, and clearly rushed. It felt like the restaurant was overwhelmed, the kitchen was closing, and they sent out whatever came up. The braised short ribs were underseasoned and lacked flavor. We had high expectations coming here, but they couldn’t even get our drinks right. It seems like they are prioritizing quantity over quality. Is that really worth it? I will never come back. For a restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide, this experience was terrible. It should not be listed on that website at all. Seating so many people together that the waitress couldn’t even move around the table—forcing guests to pass plates and glasses—was unacceptable and uncomfortable. Honestly, I’m sure the fire department wouldn’t approve of that setup. To make matters worse, the waitress herself was asking us to pass plates and glasses around the table, which was both awkward and unprofessional. “Sardines” should be the new name for this restaurant. Beautiful restaurant, but terrible service and terrible food. I hope it was just a bad day for them. Never again for me.

We really enjoyed brunch there yesterday. The atmosphere is comfortable and vibrant. Britt gave us excellent service even though she was covering 12 tables. The food was exceptional. My Shashuka was great and my wife's Egg Benedict on a fried green tomato was excellent. I had to try their special Old Fashion which rocked!!!
