We've had a wonderful experience with Heartland Animal Hospital. The entire team is kind, professional, and truly cares about the animals they treat. They always take the time to explain everything clearly and make sure we feel comfortable with our pet's care.

I have taken my Doberman to this clinic for the last 9 years, starting when he was a puppy. Throughout that entire time, I was never once advised to pursue screening for Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM)—a serious and well-known condition that disproportionately affects Dobermans. Standard breed guidance recommends annual cardiac screening beginning around age 3. This never occurred. My dog was ultimately diagnosed while I was out of town, approximately six months ago. Now, as we are navigating end-of-life care, the treatment my dog and I have received has been deeply disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable. At our most recent visit, my dog was returned to me smelling strongly of urine and feces, which was distressing and avoidable. Additionally, when I transferred his care to another veterinary office, the veterinarian misrepresented and exaggerated his condition, creating unnecessary alarm and confusion during an already emotionally difficult time. This clinic may be adequate for routine services—vaccinations, heartworm prevention, flea and tick medications—but based on my experience, I would not trust or recommend them for breed-specific care, chronic illness management, or compassionate end-of-life support. After nearly a decade of loyalty, I expected better guidance, better communication, and better care—for both my dog and myself.

My baby girl, Dixie Lynn was not herself one day. She was an older dog. Her regular vet was not able to see her in a reasonable time (my opinion). I called around and found this amazing clinic. Open on a Saturday. “Bring her right in”, they said. The vet did some lab work. Though the prognosis was not good (cancer), the staff was so supportive. When it was time to say our goodbyes, I chose to go back to Heartland vs. her regular vet. I couldn’t believe how compassionate the staff were. I feel my “regular” vet wouldn’t have given me the support I needed. After all, they deal with this all the time. I know Heartland does too, but the staff at Heartland somehow knew that my heart was shattering. At her regular vet I felt we were just a number. I am so thankful to have stumbled across this amazing place and will be bringing my future fur babies to Heartland. The staff are just absolutely animal lovers and show genuine compassion and care.

Staff are always friendly and very helpful. I have been brought three of my dogs to them - small breed and two large breed and have always been very happy with the service. They were especially kind and helpful when I had to make the very hard decision to put my 14 yr old lab to sleep due to serious health issues. Heartland Animal Hospital staff are knowledgeable, caring, considerate and kind. The cost for services is always reasonable.

I have been bringing my Doberman here for about a year now! When I brought her home as a puppy I was looking for a vet, and saw this one had great reviews. I’ve never had anything other than a wonderful experience here! My Doberman can be the handful, and has needed everything from anal gland expressions to induced vomiting from eating an oatmeal raisin cookie. The facility is always clean, staff are always so kind and helpful, and I always leave learning something new. They consistently aim to educate and have helped me learn how to best care for my dog! Overall a great place! I highly recommend them!
