Animal Tender Pet Resort

My son and I were traveling to Utah for Christmas to see family. We were leaving on the 23rd. I have three dogs, and we had arranged for a friend to watch the dogs. There was an incident with our bigger dog lunging towards the pet sitter when he came over. We believe it was due to the smaller dogs barking, and the bigger dog trying to “protect” them. We thought our holiday plans were ruined. We decided to take our bigger dog with us and arranged to have her at the hotel; however, the hotel required us to keep our dog with us at all times, which was not possible due to my family’s no pet policy in their apartment. I decided to look for boarding in Utah…so we would be close if our dog misbehaved. I saw the great ratings and reviews for Animal Tender Pet Resort. I knew it would be a Christmas miracle if they had any availability….and they did!!! The staff was so nice when we arrived, and I knew our pup was in good hands. They also provided other services such as anal gland expression. Our six hour trip to Utah was a bit smelly, but on the way home, we had no issues! I know they took really good care of our dog for a couple days over the holiday, and allowed us to visit with family. Thank you sooooo much!! I highly recommend to all pet lovers ♥️🐾

We had a great experience. It was fun seeing Chevy on the cameras and they took great care of him. His sleeping area was large and clean. Staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. They were flexible and helped us get the best pricing. Very good with the dogs, too. Thanks, guys! 🐾

We have been using Animal Tender Pet Resort for a few years now and feel very confident leaving our Golden and our Boxer for extended stays - (4-5 days). One of our dogs requires twice daily meds and they make sure she gets them in a timely manner. Our doggies are excited when we leave them & still wagging their tails when we pick them up. They are well supervised during play time. Thanks Animal Tender for piece of mind when we are our of town! ❤️ They also do a great job with grooming!

I had the worst experience there I have taken my dog there before Ashley was a groomer there and she was excellent. I loved how she was so friendly with my dog and she groomed him great. When Ashley left there I went to the other place where she was grooming again she was excellent. Ashley isn’t grooming animals now. I called Animals Tenders I asked if they had a groomer that groomed cocker spaniels. They said they did. I asked what their pricing was for grooming. The Lady who answered the phone gave me the prices of several of their groomers. She said there was one groomer named Bailey that charged between $52.00 to 55.00 and I asked why her pricing was different and they didn’t give me a reason. They just said that’s what she charged. I booked an appointment with Bailey but when I came in before she took my dog I asked her again what her price was for grooming my dog. She said it was between $60 and $65. I told her when I made the appointment that they quoted me $52 to $55. She said they never quote over the phone and I said well they did for me. She asked me if I was OK paying the $65, I said that I would pay her the $65 but I would take it up with the manager. she became very rude, she told me I’m not going to groom your dog. You can find somebody else to groom him. I told her I was fine with paying the money but I had a problem with who ever set up my appointment. It was very misleading. My dog gets groomed every 6 weeks. His groomer is very sick and is not doing it now. I’m sorry that Animal Tenders quoted me one price over the phone and when I came in, it had changed then they went on to tell me that no one had no one quoted me. I’m not very happy with this company and I will not be coming Back. It made me so sad to hear about that poor lady that left her cat in their hands while she went to Europe and that the cat ended up passing away.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We've been taking our pets to Animal Tender since we moved to St. George. They're usually pretty good especially with our dog. However, the last time we went to Europe we left our cat with them. She was there for 17 days. When I picked her up and pulled her out of her kennel it was obvious to me something was terribly wrong. She had shrunk to the size of a kitten and would not move. I took her to the vet and he informed me that she was in full kidney failure and so dehydrated that her infection counts were off the charts. Upon questioning the Animal Tender manager and assistant manager told me they had camera footage of my cat coming out and playing and everything was fine. Nothing about how my cat came home was fine. Nobody monitored her food and water intake. Nobody noticed that she was not moving. I had to put her down 4 days after she came home and I am heart broken. When I asked the vet if this could have been prevented, he said that in his opinion more could have been done. They should have at the very least had her checked out when she started showing signs that she was not well. I will NEVER bring my pets here again. I'm still deciding whether or not I will sue them. Pets are family. You don't ignore them, you can't just treat them like stored goods. PET OWNERS BEWARE!!!!!! Photos included of the day we put her down and her ashes. I'm not making this up.
