We love coming here as often as we can, especially with friends and my 10-year-old son. We hike about 5.13 miles long, with plenty of magnificent views, big trees, deer, cardinals, and butterflies along the way. The path is clean and well marked, bikers too and there are restrooms, parking, and even a dog park nearby. The best part? We’ve occasionally been gifted plants 🪴 from one of the kind owners such a thoughtful touch that makes this spot even more special.

Very large park with wide walkways. Winding through an old forest. We saw deer and several species of birds. A sweet bird nest caught my eye. Other walkers were pleasant and many had dogs. We also saw the Land Bridge. Lovely trails.

A nice spot to access the trail. As with other trail heads, there is water and restroom porta potties available. A good place for a break while riding.

Went hiking here Easter if 2023. This trailhead was really clean. The people that were hiking and biking were really friendly. Its a really beautiful hiking trailhead and peaceful one as well.

San Antonio's Greenway trail system is world class! It was designed to run through neighborhoods in a way that usually provides privacy for the homeowners and a beautiful experience for the walker or cyclist. It's beautifully marked and maintained. SA Parks and Rec does a wonderful job keeping every inch of the Salado pristine and clean. Kudos to city leaders for allocating funds to not only build it and connect it with the Leon Creek trail, but funds to keep it fabulous. Trail stewards are out and about and every now and then the Park Police may be seen on an ATV. So happy we have this incredible resource to allow us to exercise in the beautiful outdoors...
