Canino - Dog Daycare in Astoria

We just had our first experience with Canino and I can't recommend this business enough. Not only did they take in our (very) senior dog, but they did so during a blizzard. They went above and beyond to ensure our family dog was safe and well taken care of throughout the stay. We were able to enjoy our vacation worry-free and happy to know he was in such trusted hands. Beyond that, the staff and owner are incredibly friendly and communicative. Also, what stood out to me was the fact that we were given a tour of the facility before his temperament test. We've boarded our dog at many facilities before, and were never offered this level of access. It speaks to the integrity and trust that Canino operates by. We're certainly lucky to have Canino so close to home and will be back once we're off on our next adventure.

My pup Easton West loves Canino!!! Clean, friendly, and responsible! Igor is the best!!!! Easton and all his friends go there. It's literally daycare for fur-babies!!! Play time, relax time, more play time, agility courses - probably better than actual human day care. My fur baby comes home happy, vs your human rugrats come home tired and cranky . Wouldn't go any where else!

I have so many good things to say about Canino that it is hard to know where to begin. Our puppy has been going to Canino since he was about 11 months old, and we have witnessed an incredible shift in his demeanor during that time. Because the staff at Canino reinforce boundaries and productive play, our dog has become more calm, confident, and responsive to our commands. He absolutely loves the agility training as well! Canino is certainly his second favorite place in the world (after home, of course). From a human perspective, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and caring. They communicate regularly with owners and send the most stunning pictures of the pups in action. The facility is impeccably maintained, and our puppy never comes home with that ‘daycare’ smell. It is truly a joy to know the staff at Canino and watch their business flourish. I wouldn’t trust any other facility with my dog’s well being than Canino!

I can’t say enough great things about Canino! From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place is run with love and care. The facility is clean, spacious, and designed with dogs’ happiness in mind. Whether it’s for daycare or boarding, I always feel at ease knowing my pup is in the best hands. A huge shoutout to Igor, the owner, who truly has a way with dogs. His passion and dedication shine through in everything he does. He takes the time to get to know each dog individually, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and most importantly—have fun! Every time I pick up my dog, he’s happy, well-exercised, and probably wishing he could stay longer! If you’re looking for a top-notch daycare and boarding facility, Canino is the place to go. Highly recommend!

We took our dog to Canino recently to check out the new dog daycare. Our pup was instantly comfortable in the indoor and outdoor space, with shade from the sun and even water play! Canino has all of the perks of a new business: it’s clean, spacious, and bright.. but it also has the perks of being a well-run, trusted, and knowledgeable business since it’s owned by the same family as Buster & Whiskers. We love B&W and are so excited they’re expanding to provide even more services to the Astoria dog community! 😊
