(from Google)Nice trails, very clean facilities, and nature!
This place is perfect for families or anyone just wanting a safe place to walk or enjoy nature. The view of Mt.Hood is beautiful on a clear/partially cloudy day. If you take kids it is great to spend time listening to the animals they hear and to learn about the things they see.
I love this trail and I hike it several times a week. It is well maintained, easy for all users including children 4+. (Not stroller friendly) Of course it is within a growing city and so you do hear some noise from nearby construction and traffic. But if you want a quaint nature walk for 30-45 minutes this is it! Oh and you can now access the Christilla Pioneer Cemetery.
Scouters Mountain is a little tucked-away gem of a spot in Happy Valley. Because it's not overly used, it's a favorite place for solitude and quiet relaxation. The trails are easy to moderate, and the crowning feature would have to be the summit view of Mt. Hood off in the distance. The park offers a well-maintained picnic area consisting of a large grassy open space, and a large open-air, covered table area. 2 clean, and serviced restrooms on site, and two handicap parking spaces adjacent, to complement the larger general parking area just below. Love this place! We come here as often as possible!
Hanna Will I recently did a photoshoot at Scouters Mountain Nature Park, and it was truly magical. The towering trees with their rich green hues created an enchanted forest atmosphere. This location beautifully showcases Oregon's natural beauty, with light filtering through the leaves, imparting a sense of peace and serenity. As a wedding and family photographer based in Portland, I’m always seeking unique spots like Scouters Mountain. The park's trails offer breathtaking views, and the lush greenery against the expansive sky provided incredible shots. The trees are particularly photogenic, exuding an almost otherworldly quality when sunlight bathes them just right. For photographers or anyone who appreciates Oregon's beauty, Scouters Mountain is a must-visit. It’s perfect for capturing the essence of the Pacific Northwest, featuring a stunning mix of towering trees and scenic vistas. The natural surroundings create a perfect backdrop for memorable moments, making it an ideal spot for family and engagement photos.
