Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital

I can’t recommend them highly enough, especially Dr Midkiff! All the staff were super friendly and so gentle with my cat Creamy. But the love and compassion that Dr Midkiff showed was over the top. She will always be the doctor for my pets!

I am highly disappointed with this veterinary hospital. They have a new front desk person (Taylor) who is totally unprofessional. Taylor decided to speak to us as if we were children. Her demeanor was condescending and nasty. We have brought our fur baby to this veterinarian since he was a little puppy. To date, unfortunately, anytime he had an appointment with Dr. Midkiff, there was an issue. The other vet, who is the owner of the establishment, was always kind and attentive. This is sad, as she is allowing Dr. Midkiff and the new staff to bring the business down. I will no longer tolerate my fur baby being mistreated by this place. Nor will I condone being spoken to like a child by their uneducated assistant. As a professional with several degrees, I expect to be treated as such. My advice to anyone regarding this place is to look elsewhere! There are so many great Vets in Cary that truly appreciate the customer. This place definitely is not it for sure. Furthermore, if I could have given less than 1 star, I truly would have. Btw when reading their bogus reply, I couldn't reply, keep in mind my dog is a sweet 2-year-old pitty. This person wasn't there nor overheard Taylor... The other vet is not great and I have requested Dr. Highsmith many times, never been accommodated. How can a dog bite staff if they have a muzzle? Please do tell! I should have known better when my Bowser passed unexpectedly, and they were so indifferent, absolutely without compassion whatsoever! I received that compassion from Grace with cards, cremation, and a total understanding of my grief. I will never forget how their veterinarian held me as I cried. I didn't want to bring this up; however, you forced my hand. I feel disrespected by an assistant who has a hidden bias! Not only will they lose my business, but also both of my sons' as well. Furthermore, if you read other negative reviews on here, it will help you by not making the same wrong decision I made.

I brought my bunny (who hadn't been eating) into the office and she was seen by Dr. Highsmith. Dr. Highsmith came into the room and immediately started loving on Hunny. She took great care of her - the whole staff did. Every one of them made me feel comfortable leaving my bunny with them for her tests. They explained to me what I needed to do for her at home. After a few days, Hunny was hopping around like nothing had ever been wrong. I then had to bring my guinea pig, Angel, in because she was very sick. Again...excellent treatment from everyone. We found a very large tumor in her stomach and Dr. Highsmith couldn't feel her heartbeat on one side, which meant there was probably another tumor in the way. I made the painful decision to let her go to sleep and be pain-free. It was so hard, but everyone was so sweet and caring. I decided to have her cremated. When I came into pick up the ashes, they had put them in a beautiful box and had also made a little footprint for me of her little paw. It meant so much to me. I appreciate this place SO MUCH. On top of all that, I just received a card from them telling me how sorry they were about our family losing our sweet Angel. Way above and beyond. I will never take my pets anywhere else. I wish this could be a 10-start review because they would get all 10 stars. Thank you for taking care of my furry family :)

I've had a great experience with all of the staff at Animal Kingdom with both my dog and guinea pigs! They are very gentle and understanding with my dog, who gets nervous/anxious, and I have found the clinic's environment to be much calmer and cozier than other larger clinics! Dr. Highsmith has been excellent with my pets and I am so glad I found Animal Kingdom. As a bonus, they accept PetAssure!

We love Animal Kingdom! We found them when we added 2 rabbits to our family, as they are one of few vets in the area that are knowledgeable about the species. We were so impressed we decided to bring all our fur babies to them. Dr. Highsmith and her staff are kind, compassionate, friendly, and knowledgeable. It’s nice to have a vet and staff that remember us and our pets. They are reasonably priced as well! When we had our rabbits spayed & neutered, their price was about half of what we were quoted at another veterinary office and Animal Kingdom accepted spca vouchers to use towards the service. To me, this shows that they care more about the community and families they serve rather than gouging them unnecessarily. Today we had our sweet, 14 year old, mixed breed dog put down. He was old, tired and had become very uncomfortable. The staff was again kind and compassionate, explaining everything in advance and again along the way during the emotional event. We will continue to travel from Fuquay to see Dr. Highsmith and her staff as long as we have fur babies.
