We went in Dec and the water mill and a lot of areas in the park were closed for the season. However, whatever we could see was picturesque. We didn’t believe that the pictures that we saw in the reviews could be close to what the place looks like, def thought the pics were altered to look better but the place is fabulously beautiful

On our annual jouney to Myrtle Beach we overnight at a new campground. This is by far, the most PICTURE PERFECT location Ive ever been to in the US. Absolutely breath taking.

Babcock State Park is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve ever visited. The Glade Creek Grist Mill, with its rustic charm surrounded by forest and flowing water, perfectly captures the essence of West Virginia’s natural beauty. Everywhere you look, there’s something scenic, from the “Almost Heaven” sign to the sound of the creek flowing over the rocks, it’s pure serenity. The park’s trails and picnic areas make it an amazing spot to spend the day, whether you’re hiking, taking photos, or just relaxing by the water. The vibrant colors of the trees and the calm creek create a picture-perfect setting that feels straight out of a postcard. If you’re visiting West Virginia, Babcock State Park is an absolute must-see. It’s a place that truly lives up to the phrase “Almost Heaven.”

Really enjoyed our 1 day adventure in Babcock SP (Oct 14). Of course you have to stop and take a few photos of the Gristmill (around 8:45-9am.. a little fog but nice, ambient light). We did about a 6ish mile hiking loop from the top of Skyline trail down to Rocky trail to narrow gauge trail (stopping at Manns creek falls) to ridge top to old pond and then back to skyline. Wonderful loop if you are up for it! Thought this was a beautiful park. Glad we stopped here as park of our New River Gorge NP trip.

We had a quick stop here on our way home. I will definitely be back for a longer visit. We stopped mainly for the swing picture but the mil and the little waterfall were so beautiful. It was so peaceful here. They have a great camp store and there were signs for cabins. Very clean.
