We’ve been here about 7-10 times for brunch and dinner and every time we have a great experience. The food is delicious, and the staff is nice. Tonight we had a strange experience, we put a table for 3 down with the hostess and sat at the bar in the meantime, just 2 of us. They came to bring us to our table, our friend was running behind, so they brought the 2 of us to a table seated for 3. We would’ve waited until she got there to sit but the hostess brought us from the bar. A worker came over after and tried to take the table explaining he can’t “save seats”, and told us to put a chair at the end of the small table. We said no, our friend was almost there and he left. We found out that was the owner. Just very off putting. We will of course be returning but hoping this brings attention to the establishment because it was not only us that experienced this, he went up to other tables as well asking if they were finishing up.

Honestly the best burger I’ve ever had. I always get the Grove Street Burger with their sweet potato fries! I changed the big onion ring to crispy onions instead, so so good! Everything about this burger!!! Literally to die for. Great prices as well. Wish I could go every week LOL , oh and the pickle on the side (which I ate before taking the picture) is also amazing.

Fantastic pub, first class food in a tavern/pub environment. Some Hideaway turns what would be a standard pub meal into something first class, which is probably why it's packed all the time. You can eat or drink at the bar, or in the dining area which sometimes has the fireplace going. The staff are all super friendly which adds to the experience.

I was very skeptical of this place when I was reading other reviews. It's not often that a place lived up to reviews that praise every little thing. However, I was pleasantly surprised and I am very happy that I was wrong. First off, everything we ate was excellent. The portions are very good, the quality of the meat was impressive, and the service was quite prompt. The burgers are some of the best in the area, if not all of Connecticut. The prices for food are definitely higher than the average pub. However, you are getting much better food than you would at the average pub so I feel like the tradeoff is fair. There is sometimes a decent wait here as well as this is a popular pub. I would suggest avoiding dinner on weekends if you don't want to wait for seating. Lastly, there is a good mix of beers if you are just looking to have a pint with friends. I really do recommend this place.
