Definitely a chill Spot to walk the beach at low tide. We went there in the morning to eat our breakfast and to explore a little bit. Calm, quiet, and peaceful.😎🤙

A beautiful beach, with fantastic photo opportunities! A calm beach for children to play! Ample parking and a big bathroom!

I’m surprised how popular this beach is, I was under the impression it was a little more reserved. Sunset beach is definitely more private, with the terrain surrounding the water. What I do like about this one compared to Bassendorff, is the fact that when the tide is low, you can actually walk on the rocky parts where the water previously was. I got to see sea urchins, snails, hermit crabs, and much more. It’s cool to see certain parts of the sea up close. Further, the beach is also just a great place to sit and chill. I believe you’re also able to boat and fish in this part of the water, considering it’s not as rough. Overall, Sunset beach is a great place to go if you want to see different aspects of the ocean.

This is a lovely beach with such a great Oregonian feel and safe/fun for the kiddos. We loved our afternoon spent here. We grabbed some lunch and spent our entire afternoon watching our boys playing happily in the water (in March mind you!). We also enjoyed a short hike that was just slightly south of the beach for some nice views of the rocky beach coves and unique rocky cliffs. This makes for a great day for the family!

I happened to get here when the tide was WAY out, so all of the tide pools were exposed and the water was super calm. It really was a fascinating sight. But this place really is great to get out on the beach, especially if you don't mind there being quite a few people. The restrooms are nice, there are plenty of picnic tables and fire pits, and since it's a really shallow cove it's a great place to swim! I've never swam here myself, but I'm told the water tends to be warmer than most of the coast. There's a great campsite with yurts available across the way if you wish to stay longer. It's really pretty here, and it's a great place to enjoy the beach. I don't think you need a parking pass, but I'm not 100% sure. I've never used one here.
