I gave this store 5 stars maybe few months ago and I take it back. I deleted it and today, I got the worst customer service and very rude employees. I am a supporter of the store for months. But today just had me turn it around and say I won’t come back here for a while till they refix customer services and the employees. I went in today to grab some food for my dogs as usually because I loved the store I like to purchase a few items. I came in no greeting just laughing employees looking at me as i came in. I usually look at sales before I get my regular food for my dogs. I was in there for about 10 mins or so. Just employees laughing on the ladder while I look around. About 8 mins in I decided I’m ready to pay. The lady went up to the register and automatically gave me a DEATH RUDE stare like she hated me!!! and just automatically scanned. No smile no nothing just rude stare. I told her I am a rewards member and had a coupon if she can look up my number. Rolled her eyes, rude said oooooooooh ok what’s your number, still rude stare. Gave her my number and didn’t say anything to me but my total. After I purchased she then gives receipt and said thanks I asked can Iget a bag for my items. Oh gawsh she had an attitude for that.i told her I can do it if she doesn’t want too… she then grabs the food and puts it In the bag and rolls eyes rude stare. I usually ask for samples but I didn’t because she is the one that always tells me we can’t give too much samples. Which I know they have a lot, but for her to tell me she can’t give customers samples is rude. Didn’t want ask cause she look like she wasn’t having it with me,Why bother. I honestly felt so attacked for just purchasing my dogs food. I feel that the store has become less helpful and more annoyed employees. I didn’t want to come in here to ruin someone. But I love this store, and for me to take back my 5 star is sad. I hope the OWNER sees this, and rethinks about services to new and old customers. Re-train associates or get new employees about customer service and management. I will not come in for a while, because I didn’t do anything wrong but buy food for my dogs and for your employees to just not care about what they do in there work Field and attitude. She just didn’t want me to shop in the store, no greet, sorry if I was looking at clearance and was about to ask for samples but I didn’t cause you roll eyes as you rang my items. I didn’t ask for samples after a purchase because you gave a B- face I hope services in the store changes and gets better.

Omg! I was out with my puppy just killing some time and looking for some good things for him to chew on and we popped into this store. The staff was so friendly and absolutely made Ollie feel at home. He is a rescue so we are still working on our people anxiety he made friends quick and they were absolutely amazing to him. We hope to come back soon for some more cool toys and chews! Great selection too though they do seem to be rebuilding and resetting a lot of things. We can't wait to come back!

This store is absolutely amazing. Mavis, Gyoza, and Stardust are all absolutely happy with their new home. Each and every employee that we have ever interacted with has been nothing but polite, kind, and, courteous. Haley and Aero are always more than willing to go out of their way in assisting customers with whatever they need. If it's not in stock they can direct you right where to find it or are more than happy to place an order for it. Hands down the best pet store in San Antonio. Gyoza is the gecko. Stardust is the African Green Bush Snake.. I post a picture of Mavis as well but Asian Forest scorpions love to hide 😉

All the people that work here are very friendly and helpful. You can tell they like working here. I was in the store on Saturday while they were having an event, and got my little ESA Trixie's nails clipped. Amos, a groomer from they're store in Austin came in to do the nail trims for the day. He was so gentle and patient with Trixie, I hope they bring him back to San Antonio on a regular basis. I've been coming here for years, the name may have changed, but the same great people are still here. Chris is my go to person for birds, she has rescued 2 wild birds that I know of this past spring, I also rescued a White Wing Dove, we stayed in touch on the progress of our birds. We were both syringe feeding these baby birds and she showed me a brand of canned dog food that you can use if you don't have specific bird formula. I was able to release the dove weeks later who still visits my yard occasionally when I have my parrots outside in they're cages on my back deck. Chris has 2 conures of her own, and knows birds well.

Update 3/10/25 - a very older, Hispanic couple had a poor, heavily bred french/regular bulldog and were antsy to give her a bath despite getting to the store well after 8 (an hour before store closes). The employees: a Hispanic skinny male and a tall Black male, were VERY patient with their attitudes. If their dog gets sick and has to finally visit a vet for the first time in her life, they can blame the fact that they did not want to wait 10 minutes for the self-serve bath to sanitize. The employee even found me in the parking lot to give me my lost sunglasses!
