Animal House Pet Center

Stopped into Animal House Pet Center of Saint Petersburg for the first time and was very impressed with their selection of everything. They have a great variety of live animals including , fish, reptiles, turtles, tortoises, chickens, ducks, lizards, Guinea pigs, snakes and much more!!! Also, have pet supplies, cages, enclosures, food, toys, bedding and more!! Definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the market for a new pet, or need any pet supplies!! Staff were friendly and welcoming too!!

Half of the store is filled with pets to purchase. First and foremost are the lovely birds at the front. So beautiful and colorful! I took pictures of those. They also had guinea pigs. My friend was buying a fat rat to feed his Boa constrictor (which weren't displayed) while I enjoyed looking at the pets offered. Behind the birds I found little turtles, a scorpion, multiple snakes which intrigued me. There were several exotic species available to view. It was really cool! The other half of the store were filled with multiple pet products for dogs, and other traditional pets. There were HUGE bird cages against one wall and the most expensive one was over $1,000. But they were solidly built and very sturdy. I was delighted to see a group of handicapped people come in with their caregivers to enjoy the birds They were so happy and very well mannered. I'd highly recommend a visit!

I bought four fish from here 2 Pacu and 2 Pleco. Did not realize that the plecos both had ich (disease) before i put them in my tank. I removed both pleco and returned them back to Animal House. Now my entire 55 gallon community tank is infected and i am currently treating them for the disease. I wouldn’t go back to the fish store because they obviously do not properly quarantine and make sure there fish are rid of disease before selling.

An amazing pet store! Unfortunately restrooms out of order so gave it a 4 rating instead of 5. Animals seemed very well cared for and they had an amazing variety. Employees all working hard. Customers all seemed happy to be there.

Great place as far as variety. Selection can be slim sometimes but when they restock it's always great! Good place for live feeders as well. Staff is generally friendly, 90% of the time. It'd be 5 stars but I've seen them "overstock" 2-3 times and the animals that were overstocked were in rough environments. Prices are a tiny bit higher than most shops as well.
