(from Google)Nice clean field for flying kites & exercising on the gravel trails. Owned by the San Antonio Medical Foundation.
Mr Jim Reed would have a mixed reaction reading this review. Well, Mr Reed. Your walking trail and surrounding greenery are unique and extensive. The trail is connected to the greater biking and walking network in the area. Parking may be limited to 15 vehicles but there are other parking options adjacent to the park. If you enter the Christus Santa Rosa facility on Babcock the parking area can accommodate 50 of your workout partners easily. A couple of workout stations are placed in the large open field and there is a trash receptacle for the presents left by dog partners. The downside to enjoying your walk to this open air park are the presents left by irresponsible dog partner ruffians Littered on the actual gravel pathways , these presents are strategically placed in the middle of the path with careful consideration to pedestrians and their fellow dog partners. Overall, with eyes wide open, I enjoy the peaceful walks and scenery with an occasionally curious deer population to keep your afternoon interesting. Please bring a bag people.
Well, this trail is good for only Walker and Runner, only not recommended for kids because of dirt trails
Nice private/public park complete with crushed rock walking trail. The trail eventually converges with a path that leads into the medical area. Three manual stretching stations are found around the walking trail which is approximately 1 mile(ish). One area along the trail leads you through a foresty area with deer and other wild life. No restroom accommodations available here.
This is an easy peasy walking/jogging trail in the Medical Center area with no incline, and a mixture of paved and gravel trails (the gravel is not rough gravel). There’s also outdoor workout stations along the trail (see photos). The trail is a loop and you can get a quick 2.2 miles here. Parts of it are shady if you go in the morning or evening. I’d be careful mid day though - not a lot of shade. There are two parking lots on opposite sides of the 2.2 mile loop. The address for the main parking lot is at 2889 Babcock Rd, but there is another parking lot near the intersection of Hamilton Wolfe Rd. and Ewing Halsell Dr. Oh yeah, even though it’s in the middle of the Medical Center - you might spot some deer if you go at the right time of day. :)
