Resaca De La Palma State Park & World Birding Center

Great park- mixture of paved & natural trails. Varying length trails to walk. Parking is adequate, wasn't too busy on Monday morning. There is a visitor center where you can pay entrance fee (& yes, gifts to buy) or there is a self pay station outside. The fee is $4. for one person, $6 for two.

Great place for a hike or bike ride. Though if biking, mind the thorns from various trees in the middle of the trails in the thorn-scrub areas

Awesome state park, bicycle and tricycle rentals available at an affordable and reasonable price. My family and I will definitely be back next time we are visiting the area. We visited in February and saw lots of different species of birds, green jays, chachalacas, cardinals, hawks, and some other beautiful bird species. There was a coloring station inside which was much appreciated for the little ones after we finished our long bike ride. We spoke to Park Ranger Rudy and had an excellent and very informative conversation! Even though we picked a hot and windy day to explore, we walked most of the trails, saw several beautiful birds and a bobcat! It was great seeing cardinals at the feeders, as well as larger bright green birds. We were a little early in the season for butterflies but the golden dragonflies were plentiful.

Great park, especially if you like birds. There's a tram but it only runs on a couple days a week. Definitely not on Sundays. I believe they rent bikes. But if they don't, you can ride your own personal one there. Gift shop was pretty good. One of the attendants had her service dog inside and I must say I wanted to pet that floof but I managed to restrain myself because well, it was a service dog, but in another life I believe that pup was a people person 🤣 anyway.
