Black Creek Greenway Trailhead

Bikers beware! I attempted a loop starting from the Black Creek Greenway trailhead, heading north to West Dynasty drive. There are detour signs putting you onto NW Cary Drive, and this dumps you onto a 2 lane bridge with cars going 65 mph past you, and a lousy shoulder. And then…the detour signs disappear. Don’t know what the town is thinking. Not everyone knows these roads by heart. Using Ride with GPS, i tried to get back to the official greenway, and found an entrance off Beecher drive closed. I had to backtrack and go up to Montebello and finally found Beachtree path, which was labeled as greenway access. AND THEN…it dead ends into a creek! Great. So i haul my 50 pound ICE trike over the rocks and water, and land back on the greenway. The rest of the loop was fines except for a long ugly slog on Davis. I am sure someone knows a better way around the detour, which was for bridge repair. But watch out. the signs are useless, the roads they lead to are treacherous, and all in all a greenway disappointment in what is usually a well managed system.

Nice windy paved pathway through the woods. Good to get away from the hustle and bustle and immerse yourself with the trees and birds. Some areas of the Greenway need resurfacing.

First visit, wintery noon, with family, The trail is extremely well maintained by users. If you care for a long walk between the trees or cycling without the horror of crazy traffic, do take this trail. Has loop trails in the original long trail so lots of options. You can enjoy the plain silence by simply sitting on a bench on this trail. It's a paved trail which is slightly not to my liking. I love the more 'natural' ones but then it helps the kids and elderlies to walk safely so a 👍

I'm new at the whole "this riding a bike thing is awesome". I'd rather walk. Anyhow, the trail is nice. It was clean pretty much even after the storm. Just, as a walker, please move over. As a bike, please be kind!

The Black Creek Greenway in the area of the trailhead is very well maintained with parking, trail signage, and very wide paths with very good drainage. The trail has a lot of well maintained bridges and is generally quiet and peaceful. North of Dynasty, the trails are a bit more narrow, and has some areas which are pooled after a lot of rain.
