(from Google)I’m a flat-lander from Indiana and this trail kick my butt, in a good way. Amazing views and challenging technical descents and climbs. I highly recommend this trail if you visit Chattanooga.
You can see the city from the top — such an amazing view! There are picnic tables, portable potties, and plenty of space to relax. It’s peaceful, clean, and not too crowded. A nice spot to hang out with family or just enjoy some quiet time surrounded by nature. You can spend time watching the city from above — it’s really beautiful and refreshing!
Beautiful hidden gem, just outside of Chattanooga on Raccoon Mountain. Never crowded or noisy. As you drive up the mountain, there are a few different places to check out, including the overlook. You are above the clouds. There are biking trails & good fishing spots. Tons of great photo opportunities & just a cool spot.
The owner of the Cat Cafe told us about this location and he was right it was beautiful!! Stunning veaw of the city. Many great hiking trails that are dog friendly. It's also a beautiful drive. If you want to see lovely over look but maybe you are not capable walking to a over look this is perfect. The only reason for 4 stars were the bathroom. They were trashed. I feel so bad for who ever has to clean them
Beautiful!!! The overlook is an amazing view of Chattanooga and the TN River. The Visitor's center looks great from the outside (was closed when I went). Very informative signs around the area. The views are awesome. The McNabb Graveyard was interesting (if you like to explore old graveyards...maybe find some distant relatives?).
