(from Google)Peaceful and serene!!! Nice place to walk! They have a couple picnic tables, bring your own food -no open flames allowed.
This was a beautiful place and I'll definitely be back. *updated 3/2024 I've been back numerous times now. Love walking here. Found an intact animal scull here. Gators, birds of prey, butterflies, an array of backyard birds, and turtles. The red trail is a short loop around the water. Blue trail is a bit longer. Trails nor suited for a regular stroller but a heavy duty one would work great. It can be busy on nice days.
Saw a little gator so just be careful with your small dogs. Dog friendly other than that. It was an okay place to hike. A lot of the trails were flooded so we couldn’t take them and some areas had a weird smell. But the lake looked very fishable and we even saw a few fish in the water that looked like large mouth.
Great local trails. We hiked for about 3 hours this weekend, it was beautiful. We did run into a copperhead but that's just nature, made for some excitement. Saw a neat turtle too. Trials are all in great condition and anyone can walk them.
Wonderful area to walk and hike! There is never any trash scattered about which is awesome!! There's several entrances with different sights to see at each, but they are all connected by the trails. There are handicapped fishing areas, and canoe launches . The only cons-- no bathrooms at any entrance, no barbequing, and the boardwalk is still closed since the 2015 hurricane... All in all it is still a wonderful place to spend a few hours walking, having picnics, fishing, or just enjoying nature!
