DNRT Ridge Hill Reserve

It's a really nice place. I went for a "for walk" I didn't find any flowers but I found peace tranquility and an amazing place to think and talk to God. He showed me the tiniest miracles.

We’ve explored many of the reserves around and they’re all a great walk, clearly marked trails and good maintenance. I took the red trail. The most notable thing about this particular reserve is the trails are a bit more challenging than most others because of the roots and some rock piles but it’s a nice change of pace. We passed the foundation of the old mill. A few trees were down blocking the path and it was clear they’d begun clearing it, it’s just a really big job but we easily walked through the woods around the block. There are some boardwalks for marshy areas. I strongly encourage people to try these reserves out. The longest trail is only 2 miles all around and there are several shorter ones. A great free way to enjoy the outdoors. I plan to join to help financially as well which can be done online on their main web page.

One of my favorite trails to walk. It's beautiful and peaceful but not made for bikes. Lots of roots and rocks so if that's an issue, you shouldn't walk this trail.

Amazing morning hike today, we had a couple does (deer) greet us on the path on the way out. My 2 year old was beyond excited to see a wild deer he wanted to see more 🤣 I told him it doesn’t work like that. We enjoyed the story walk they had at this hike. On top of all that there are a few paths we could choose from. Great for walking with the dogs/children.

Great walk!! Goes onto some private properties but owners allow. It's not far from a gun range so gun shots can be nerve racking for some. You can walk 3-4 miles if you do ALL loops.
