Fruita Paleo Loop Trailhead

Well-maintained and clean trail, with dogs allowed off leash to enjoy it fully. I was passing through Fruita and looking for a place to hike with my dog so we could both stretch our legs before getting back in the car—and this was perfect. We started around 9am and I was pleasantly surprised by how many others were out with their dogs. The trail felt very safe, with clear markings and easy-to-follow paths. I’d consider it an easy to moderate hike, with multiple route options and offshoots offering beautiful views—deep orange rock formations in one direction and snow-capped mountains in the other. My dog loved it, and we ended up staying longer than planned because it was such a great experience. Highly recommend for anyone traveling with a pet or locals looking for a scenic, approachable hike. I’ve driven past Fruita many times and never realized this gem was here. 10/10 would recommend.

Great place close to town and once you get towards the back of these trails you can be secluded and get some beautiful views.

Alot of trails and different paths to explore, easy to loose track of time. Beautiful scenery!

Great easy track to the cabin and if you wish you can keep going on the loop around which is a bit more remote. Great views and quiet hike.
