Bill Faver Lakeshore Trail

Nice wooded trail that is natural surface and boardwalk; can be muddy in lower portions. Hills and multiple roots all along trail. Trailhead markers under represent the distance-It is listed at 1.8 miles at different spots. Says to follow the “white dot” posts. We did and Strava and husband’s watch each clocked at 3 + miles. Encountered fork in the trail with no markets. We continued straight and picked up white dots. Would be beneficial if market post or two had mileage listed. Quiet trail; only encountered 2 other hikers and 1 leashed dog on the way. Nice views along City Lake and East fork of Deep River Connects to many short spurs, such as Chickadee, Raccoon…

This is the 1.8 mile loop trail in the Piedmont Environmental Center South Preserve. It is labeled with white blazes. All trails are off this one so it is safe to see this is the main trail. You can access it to the right of the parking lot or the other end just to the left of the building near the amphitheater. The trail is easy to moderate at spots, has some elevation change, uneven laterally occasionally, roots and rocks throughout, but is generally easy to walk. I've seen younger kids walk this as well as dogs. I think the draw is the ability to get close to the lake at parts. There are several spots where you can get right up to the water. Something that sticks out to me is the shade as it is thickly shaded and the temperature difference is noticeable coming onto the trail and throughout. The trail is scenic and takes you along High Point Lake. Raccoon Run Trail, Fiddlehead Trail, and Dogwood trail are all off it.

Great rolling hill trail with nice shady cover. It is not blazed very well so I did check my AllTrails a few times. I also added in the Raccoon Run Trail.

I've been going to this trail for the last decade.. It's like being in the mountains, but in the middle of High Point, NC
