(from Google)I heard voices on the trail. What I saw was inhuman! In some parts, the trails are close together. Not crowded at all -i hiked 2 miles and only heard people, never saw anyone though a group was coming in behind me. There was a steaming pile of poo on the trail. Thank ground hockey it wasn't human. Trodden enough by 5:00 p.m. on a Sunday to not have spider webs, though you might get a remnant or two. Mostly hikers, but a biker gang (you might say) was leaving. Great resource to have in the city. You can still hear traffic from multiple directions and some air traffic, but development is not happening in the audible vicinity, and you can be surrounded by nature. I saw one place I could fall and possibly die, so don't try this trail while fall-down drunk, on a strong tranquilizer, etc.
Early march, not much to see other than dead leaves, but love the nature hike through the trails, high levels of oxygen! Can't really go wrong hiking in the woods!
👀 One of my favorite Trails 😊 People Are Biking 🚴♀️, Walking 🚶♀️ & Walking There Pets Along The Trail 💁🏽♀️ If you take the Red & Yellow paths you get 3-4 miles and wonderful views. Feel like you are outdoors while still in the city 🏙️. “You know what I mean 😅” Hidden Valley, It Actually Is Hidden So Find The Woods & You’ll Find The Trail 🫡 Not Ranch 🤯
A surprisingly nice little spot for hiking in the KC metro area. After the trailhead, it’s pretty much solid woods. Trail is a complete loop with some side loops, easy to follow, and took us about an hour and a half to complete - with stops to take in the scenery. Lots of steep drop offs near the trail, so be careful.
The natural trail entrance is across the street from the parking lot. There are signs with trail markers along the trail. At the entrance of the trail shows the layout on a map. I thoroughly enjoyed the hike. I'm always barefooted on each excursion. The yellow trail is more than two and a half miles. I stayed about three hours and explored as I went. The only thing would be, to come prepared. Have your bug spray, and some water. There are no benches to rest at. Just a heads up.
