It’s a moderate to hard hike. The last mile to mile and a half is a chore. It’s best done spring and early summer when the water is flowing. There is shade for parts of the trail. Beautiful spring flowers and foliage right now.

Good trail. Some parts give pretty good shade. The falls is a reward.

Love, love, love this hike! Exactly 4.5 miles to the Falls, though they were dry. Beautiful views and you get nice elevation without it being steep and difficult. The trail was easy to follow and diverse, which kept it interesting (changing from curvy, rocky, sandy, tree canopies, then dirt with pretty moss-covered rocks). Lots of lizards to see.  I would hike this again in a heartbeat and recommend to others. It is one of my top 2 hikes in Orange County! Appreciate that a day pass is only $5. Some state parks charge $15. Only thing that could make it better is if water was flowing at the Chiquito Falls and if you couldn't see the road from up high on the mountain at 2 points.

This is one of our favorite trails so far; it is easy to moderate with nice views and combination of mountains, trees, rocks and water falls!

A great trail! Parking is $5, which you need to buy a pass across the street. But parking is free on state holidays! The trail is a bit rugged, with some boulders here and there but manageable. Some inclines but nothing too steep at all.
