(from Google)Well... At least folks in Lehigh use protection. I came across used condoms! I also came across a pille of human excrement. People really need to pick up after themselves! Especially, after wiping and not just leave the toilet paper where people will see it. I guess go in the woods but pick up after yourself or at least bury it. One can argue that the place does not have trash bins set out but people seriously need to respect the area. The entrance does not have paved parking and it's bumpy, but parking is free. There are no restrooms available or a place to wash or shower. Hence, when nature calls then go in the woods but seriously. It is very quiet and peaceful. If you enjoy nature, and bird watching, this is definitely Lehigh's hidden gem, but wish people would respect it. I'm not a local, but I always carry bags and hauled some trash off. Wish I would have taken a shovel to bury the human poop. The trail to your left is less traveled and it's thick. You need to make sure you have good walking shoes, mosquito repellent as well as tick spray. A small lunch bag with water and light snacks saved the day for me. I went around noon, in the month of July and it was pretty hot by then. I did see good fishing spots for freshwater fishing. I feel that if your serious about fishing a kayak would suffice or even a small dingy. There really isn't a boat ramp but there is an incline where you can probably try to launch a small boat like a dingy. I stayed on the trail and did not wonder to far. I collected apple snail shellls and enjoyed listening to the birds. There is plenty of shade but it can still be hot and humid. Overall, I will return again because of Nature. It's a great place to decompress and go fishing.
This place is rough and poorly maintained. There is trash everywhere and the trails were very primitive. Parking lot is full of potholes. There are no services, benches or picnic tables. The trail to the left was blocked off. People have obviously gone through but the trail was more primitive looking than we were interested in. The trail to the right quickly became too filled with water to continue. That said, the lake is beautiful and I would be interested in kayaking there. Shockingly clear water. We saw wild boar and what looked like panther prints in the mud.
Good little area for kayaking and fishing. The water is usually very clear. I come here often for a chill relaxing paddle or to test out a kayak. It's a nice, almost hidden gem in Lehigh. I haven't walked the trails at all. It doesn't seem like they got too far though. The entrance has some deep crater like potholes that are hard to see watch out for those. If you come here, please pick up your trash. There is a garbage bin right in the middle of the road on your way out. I pick up tons of trash from the water every time I kayak here.
Beautiful but trashy. This park is a beautiful place to enjoy nature, fish, hike, kayak. Please remember to pick up your trash and fishing line. It’s sad that people litter in such a magical place.
We just recently visited as it’s literally 5 minutes up the road from us. Took some very nice photos and the water is clear. Saw some people fishing which seems to be about the only thing you can do there. It’s seems as though it’s a work in progress. Some benches and picnic tables would be nice, a playground and bigger, longer finished trails also. Not much to see right now. Hoping they add more things to do and see. Was a quick trip.
