If you're looking for an outdoor place to exercise that's accessible from the city/valley, this is a good spot. On a clear day, the views are nice. I recommend getting here as the sun comes up. Be mindful of mountainbikers who have the right of way. There are dogs off leash - which I wouldn't recommend considering the number of rattlesnakes in the area. Bring plenty of water.

Easy, dog-friendly off-leash hike that’s perfect if you want great views without a brutal climb. We went on a Sunday morning around 8:30, which turned out to be a sweet spot—busy enough to feel lively, but never crowded or chaotic. There was plenty of space to walk comfortably, let dogs roam and explore, and still enjoy the trail without constantly stopping or stepping aside. The weather couldn’t have been better. Clear skies made all the difference, and the views were honestly spectacular. From several points along the trail, you could see all the way out to the Santa Ana Mountains, across Long Beach and Palos Verdes, and even Catalina Island sitting on the horizon. Watching planes take off and land at LAX (binoculars required)in the distance added an unexpected and fun visual element that made the landscape feel even more expansive. What really sets this hike apart is how accessible it is. You don’t need to be an experienced hiker to enjoy it, and it’s especially great for dogs that love open space and freedom. The trail is well-suited for a relaxed pace, plenty of stops to take in the scenery, and moments where your dog can just be a dog. All in all, it’s a fantastic option for a weekend morning—easy, scenic, and incredibly rewarding for the effort. If you catch it on a clear day, the views alone make it more than worth the trip.

A 6 mile gravel trail that has scenic views. Right now Spring is just starting to show with yellow and pink wildflowers already sprouting. We went a few days after the rain and there were small areas of mud and a rather strong water current flowing on a neighborhood roadside. The road up to parking is a bit rocky with large potholes
