I was there with my dog "Luci Lu" for her first-time. I love this Park because they have trails here for walking. I like walking these trails because it's peaceful. There's a huge Magnolia Tree there that you can stand under it and look directly up at the sky for a nostalgic view.

Starkey Park will always feel like home to me. I grew up around here, went to Starkey Park Elementary and Longleaf Elementary, and so many of my childhood memories are tied to this area. Being able to come back and walk these trails now means more than I can put into words. I come here most mornings to walk in memory of my sister who passed away at 33. She loved walking, and every time I’m here I understand why. The peace, the beauty, and the quiet blessing of starting the day surrounded by nature makes this place incredibly special. This park isn’t just a park to me—it’s part of my hometown and part of my healing. It gives me a moment every morning to reflect, remember my sister, and start the day with gratitude. I also grew up around the Starkey family and was always grateful to attend school alongside them. They were always kind, and that same spirit of kindness and community still feels present here today. Thank you for maintaining such a beautiful space that brings so much peace and meaning to the people who walk these trails every day.

We hiked the green trail with our two little dogs. Down to the river. We all loved it! It's the time of year for yellow flies and ticks. Bring repellant. Beautiful area, will definitely be back as regulars.

I must have gone the wrong way or didn't stay long enough because I mostly saw bike trails and bike trails and more bike trails. I'll look for the hiking trail next time I go. Beautiful, serene, and clean park, many toilets at different stops and surprisingly clean. Spotted a gopher tortoise outside its burrow then it went inside and also saw the three deer! Those were highlights of my short 1hr visit to the park. I'll have to go back and explore more.

A great place to start a ride. Parking, restrooms, a picnic pavilion, and a drinking water fountain can be found here. The entire main paved bike trail is well signed and is 6.5 miles long, with many side paths along the way that are not as well maintained. There are no facilities or water along the trail, so be prepared. I rode on a cloudy day so it was pleasant but there is little to no shade along the entire trail.
