Cedar Creek Waterfall

This “trail” is 15’ and then you’re at the very small waterfall. If you’re looking for an actual hike don’t bother. If you want a close to the road experience this is for you. The whole “hike” takes 1 minute

...while the waterfall at one point of the creek was a tad underwhelming, the trails offered up great walking/hiking in both paved, unpaved, and gravelled conditions.

Part of the Cedar Creek Trail that starts from Cedar Lake and runs to Olathe Lake. Trail is a paved 2.7-ish trail one-way and ends at water fall.

This is a great trail. I parked at Olathe Lake near the bridge and waterfall. You go under the bridge and immediately see the waterfall. After this at the top of a small hill there is some benches and an overlook of the creek and the bridge they built for this trail. Eventually you will reach a sign that says ‘end of trail, phase two coming soon’. This can now be ignored because I walked past this sign and this trail now leads all the way to cedar lake which is a couple miles south of lake olathe. After passing the sign you will be walking parallel to the train tracks before turning and going under the train bridge, after this you pass the rock quarry and eventually arrive at cedar lake. If you want to see a second waterfall then as soon as you arrive at cedar lake and the official trail ends, turn to your right and walk across the levee until you see a painting of a green turtle on some concrete at the spillway. At the end of this little trail you will see a path leading down into some woods. Walk that path until you arrive at the top of cedar lake waterfall. You can view it from here or scramble down some rocks and get a view of it from the bottom. It’s relatively easy to scramble down to get a better view just be careful. This entire trail is paved except for the unofficial path that goes to cedar lake waterfall, you turn right and see a dirt path between some grass. You will be walking south on the western edge of cedar lake. This waterfall is not an official destination of this trail like the one at lake olathe, but it’s very nice and can easily be accessed if you follow my instructions and it shouldn’t be skipped because if you walk all the way to cedar lake you’re only maybe 0.3 miles from the cedar lake waterfall. I included photos in order, beginning at the lake olathe trailhead until finally arriving at cedar lake and the second waterfall. I hope this guide helps.

Great trail! Paved along the creek. Beautiful any time of year. Not to hilly. If you park by the lake and walk under bridge it's a 1.5 mile to end. So 3 miles round trip. Took an hour but that's at a pretty good pace. Definitely be back. The waterfall is at the beginning of this trail. There is no access to it. But a cool bridge along the way . A lot of nice photo ops.
