(from Google)Very dark spot for astrophotography. Also still great for hiking and biking etc. One of my favorite places. I like sharing these things to let people know it's here but I do hate when it gets overpoplulated.
Lots of nice quiet trails by the water. I love how this wasn't as crowded as other hiking spots I've been to.
Many trails that stem off. Just pay attention to your turns. Signage could be better for sure. Wear some non slip shoes for those slippery inclines. Gorgeous foliage. Beautiful hike.
The Pink Trail was awesome!!!! For a few weeks when someone made the coolest bridge ever. But then ..the Town of Wallingford decided to destroy it. Now you can't cross the water here. *Update* The bridge is gone, but there are now a bunch of large rocks spread across the water that make it relatively easy to cross the water and continue on the Pink Trail from either direction.
A great network of trails that not many people know about. In some ways I kind of want it to stay that way but this place deserves to be shared. Well marked and maintained. These are intermediate level trails that allow you to enjoy your time with nature as opposed to spending your time here catching your breath. You'll see many deer and the occasional black bear.
