Nice scrub, pine ratio here. You're not just walking out in the middle of scrub with the blazing sun, you're mainly on the pine perimeter. So you get the best of both, being in the woods and in the scrub. I did both the red and blue loop trails and it totaled about 3.2 miles. About half of the time you could hear the road but it wasn't terrible except at the beginning of the red trail you walk parallel to the road for a minute but thats a fairly short distance and it really quiets down after that. The trails were well marked and the path was wide. It's a preserve so there aren't any restrooms or picnic tables. There is a development being built across from it and they have a sidewalk already completed from their entrance across to the preserve, so I assume one day the place will be much busier. It was a nice park.

Did a nice hike of about 3 miles. A major section of the trail was still closed due to hurricane damage along the creek/river. Did see a large rattlesnake in the path in the scrub barrons.

Upon pulling into the parking lot there was a ton of what looked like trash.. it was actually a bunch of personal affects including mail. This was a little unsettling. We decided to walk anyway and we enjoyed the fact there we had the place to ourselves. The paths were well marked and trash free. The trails are rugged winding around palmettos with tall pines and oak tree areas. There is a lot of air traffic noise but still awesome to have a place to hike in a preserved area of Florida
