(from Google)Once a week, I walk my dogs here. Lots of side trails. I can average 3.5 miles per hike.
Rustic FL nature! Two hiking trailheads on Rhodine with minimal parking. (For facilities and more parking, use Wortham park next door (West).) This is the real FL but county set it up for horses (wide trails, often sandy). Smaller side trails can take you to lovely nature and a hidden lake at back (N) side, but for some reason this is "not public." Hopefully the county will encourage foot traffic some day. One of the best examples of wild FL scrub in the TBay area.
New to the area and was hoping for something exciting or some wildlife. First off, there is no parking. Very boring walk. Only wildlife was my family and some fire ants. Don't recommend and won't be going back.
Almost missed this spot off a very busy and noisy Rhodine Road. There is just parking off the side of the road and a walk through gate area. The trails are bumpy with hog rooting, tree roots and a fire break. Peaceful as we saw no one else while hiking the well marked trails. Some paths are covered in shade from the trees while others are bright and sunny. There are no facilities or even benches. Plenty of spots to sit on fallen trees and just enjoy nature. Rhodine road is a dull roar in the background so just try and time it out and enjoy old Florida. There is also a hidden lake!
WRONG map point placement! The Preserve is actually a couple miles away off of Rhodine Road. The gate location is at 27.821632, -82.280147
