Oregon Humane Society Salem Campus

Took our boy in to have his neuter done. Everything went well. However I’m extremely dissatisfied with how IMPOSSIBLE it is to get in contact with anyone at the spay and neuter clinic. No one ever answers the phone. My cat is a Sphynx so he’s high risk with anesthesia, so the whole time he was there I couldn’t even call to check in and see how he was doing, and we were coming from Gresham. Something needs to be done about that because that’s extremely unprofessional. The voicemail says “leave a message and we will get back to you in two weeks”…. 🙄🙄

All the animals seems well cared for. I took my girls in because they wanted to be able to love on some cats and dogs who dont get that every day. They were allowed to walked around and look at the animals but no allowed to love and pet them. Unless we were going to adopt them. Which is crazy to me. You would think you would want these animals to have more human interactions.

Nice folks. Well kept animals. Open late hours. Plenty of parking. Adoption rates are reasonable too. Remember - each one of these animals are rescues, so matter more in my opinion than a typical breeder offerings.

I left Salem in 1983 when I joined the Navy. Since then i lived a lot of places. Including a twenty year stay in Mexico. After finding myself back in Salem and lacking canine companionship i went down to.ghe Humane Society. I wasnt thrilled about going but having never bought a dog in my. Always a rescue for me please. I readied myself for the Humane Society I knew from years ago. Sad looking dogs, many just days away from being put down. Wow, was I infor a shock. Everything's clean, animals look happy and well care for and no mentions of "if someone doesn't take this one home by..." Many things have changed over the 40 some years of my absence and a lot of it not great homelessness etc... But thos change was most welcome. So, please support your local shelter/ humane society. We can not go back.

We adopted Goli (Goliath) from the humane society in June of this year. He is FIV positive and for that reason he wasn’t finding a home. We already had FIV positive cats at home, we knew he would fit in perfectly! He’s the best cat anyone could ever ask for. He loves everyone he meets and adopted our other 2 cats as his kids as soon as he met them. He’s gives them baths and watches out for them. We couldn’t be more thankful to the humane society for putting him on the second chance program and giving us the opportunity to find him.
