NuCat Feline Hyperthyroid Clinic

When my cat Apollo first got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism about 2 months ago, I knew I wanted to go with I-131 treatment immediately. I did research about all the places near me, my vet recommended a place, but ultimately I landed on NuCat based on the excellent reviews and pictures from other pet parents. Apollo and I were both a nervous wreck (probably more so me) because this was our first big veterinary visit being away from each other for multiple days. Plus I was a little bit hesitant about the drive (we come from Jacksonville). I can not be more confident that I made the right choice. They answered all my questions, kept me updated on Apollo, were transparent about pricing, and overall were super sweet to my furry baby. It only took me one conversation to be able to tell that Angela, Jen, and Dr. Heaton truly care and are just genuine good people. They treated Cricket as if she were their own, which gave us tremendous peace of mind during what could have been a very stressful experience. One thing that especially impressed us was their communication. While Cricket was in isolation following her treatment, we received regular updates on how she was doing. Knowing she was eating, comfortable, and being closely monitored meant the world to us. We never felt left wondering how she was doing. Every question we had was answered patiently and thoroughly, and we always felt supported throughout the entire process. I am a retired veterinary internist and have dealt with many hyperthyroid cats and their treatment in my former job. This is THE NICEST and most thoughtfully designed facility that I have ever seen. Most hyperthyroid treatment spaces (including the university where I worked) were windowless rooms and cages. This redesigned home was built for cats and their comfort, with windows, natural light, nature views, and roomy vertical spaces. Dr. Heaton, Jen, and Angela are devoted to state of the art cat care. The daily updates and photos made me feel like my cat was having an excellent adventure. NuCat is a wonderful facility to have in our state.

Salem and I had the best experience at NuCat and recommend this facility for any other cat owners looking to treat hyperthyroidism with I131. Dr Heaton is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Angela and Jen were extremely helpful and you could tell Salem enjoyed being with them. Their cat exclusive facility is set up more homey than a traditional veterinary clinic, so Salem felt like he was on vacation during his stay for treatment.
