Vital Vet Animal Hospital

We are so thankful we found Vital Vet for our bearded dragons! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly—and they truly care about the animals they treat. They always follow up the day after an appointment to check in on your pet, which shows their genuine commitment and compassion. 10/10, highly recommend! Love them all! What I appreciated most is the high level of care.

My son and I brought our conure here on February 7th, and when we walked into the office we immediately felt welcomed. We knew we were in the right place, and with an x-ray, blood work, medication, food prescribed and a educated plan my conure has shown great improvement. The staff even call to check on Apolo. He was handled with so much care. He was using his beak to get around. Now he's actually walking again, gaining mobility, gaining weight and getting back to his playful self. Thanks to Vital Vet Animal Hospital in Chesapeake. Highly recommend. The first vet we went to was Pet Care in Virginia Beach on February 6th. The Doctor that he seen didn't give us any comfort or hope that anything could be done. I didn't have a good feeling about him either due to the way he presented himself. He did not have good energy. I didn't like the way he handled Apolo either. Apolo had a broken leg that was healing that we didn't know he had. The Doctor did a feel test, some blood work, said his leg was deformed, told us he was handicap, under weight and ASSURED us that no other vet could help us. My son and I were in tears leaving. We were so distraught that I didn't go to work the next day, and my son didn't go to school. We thought we would have to lay our bird to rest because we didn't want him to live in pain or be handicaped as the doctor put it. Apolo is only 2. Paid for services, and I still haven't heard back from that place. He got his beak trimmed which it was overdone on the left side and some oral pain medication. I'm so happy we got a second opinion from Vital Vet. Anyone that loves there pet like family understands where I'm coming from. DR. Kimbrel you are the best, and I can tell you absolutely love what you do. The passion you have. Thank you so much to you and your staff.

I felt really good about the care Vital Vet provided my pet. I'd like to recognize the team of folks from the front desk to the doctor for helping me with the urgent care I needed for my pet in a pinch. They addressed some concerns with his ears during the follow-up appointment. They are very meticulous to ensure that they thoroughly addressed the issues that brought me to Vital Vet to begin with. What I appreciated most is the level of care Vital Vet.

I want to thank the staff at Vital Vet from the bottom of my heart. What an absolute heart warming experience. Today I had to say goodbye to my Jeb. So many emotions heart broken to say the least. The staff was so empathetic sincere and loving. I will never forget you all for guiding me and being there for my every need. Jeb went so peacefully with love in the air. I am so very grateful and I thank you.

The staff at Vital Vet are amazing. We rushed our pup in just before closing panicked that she had eaten something that had her lethargic and out of sorts. My children were with me and emotional and all the staff was comforting and compassionate and even stayed late just to ensure we had all of the information and peace of mind we needed before leaving. They never made us feel like an inconvenience for showing up so late or treated us like they were rushed or irritated. It was an emotional situation and their kindness and compassion made a huge difference for my children and I. They squeezed us in for a follow up the next day and were again so helpful and kind. I Can’t say enough good things about this place!
