Erickson Veterinary Hospital

We had such an amazing experience here during a really stressful time. My dog developed pancreatitis, and they got us in right away. From the front desk to the vet, everyone was compassionate, patient, and incredibly thorough. My pup usually gets anxious at the vet, but she was calm and comfortable — she genuinely seemed to love the staff. That meant everything to me. She recovered quickly thanks to their attentive care, and I’m so thankful we found them. Highly recommend!

Sadly, we will not be continuing to use the services at Erickson Veterinary Hospital. While everyone we talked to at the hospital was very kind, the sheer disorganization and lack of ability to communicate policy has us seeking alternative options. We originally took our puppy in for an examination because she had worms. While Erickson was kind enough to get us in under short notice, they were also dismissive about sending in a fecal sample despite knowing she had a parasite. Had we not insisted, we would have never known that she had two additional parasites that were transferable not only to the other dogs in our house, but to humans as well. We then proceeded to continue getting our puppy vaccinations through Erickson. They provided us with no vaccine schedule and no information regarding their own policies. Because we have experience and resources, we presumed that Erickson would follow the standard procedure of 3 DAPP vaccines starting at 8-10 weeks, every 3-4 weeks with the last dosage happening at at least 16 weeks. We got our last DAPP as our puppy was 16 weeks and 1 day. The vet nurse then informed us that it's apparently hospital policy that our puppy be administered a fourth dose of DAPP before she would be cleared for her 1 year DAPP vaccines. When we pushed back against this, the only response we were given was that our puppy needed to have 3-4 DAPP (which all 3 were administered by Erickson) with the last one administered at 16-20 weeks (which she was 16 weeks and 1 day old). We left this appointment with the understanding that the vet nurse would discuss it with the vet, and that we would have better information in a couple weeks for our rabies vaccine. At our rabies vaccine, we were communicated to again that she 'needed' another DAPP and that the vet insisted on it before clearing our puppy for her 1 year. When asked again to give us a reason or the data as to why, the response we received is "Maybe something in her past gives us the indication that she needs another, like she's only had two" despite the fact that Erickson administered all three vaccines.

I mean i have no clue where to start… I had a little baby, named Jasper, he was young, 2-3 months, we had just gotten this baby from a rescue and was trying to get him used to a forever home. We only had him 1-2 days before he started being lethargic, not eating, not pooping, not drinking water, everything a cat owner prays doesn’t happen. We took him to this vet, and i’m gonna keep it as short as I can. We went in with this baby, who had 0 energy, couldn’t hold himself up, was so weak he would flop in front of the vets. He would throw up anything we gave him, and we explained everything to the vets. While we were in the room, My dear baby Jasper was still showing everything, couldn’t stand, wouldn’t eat treats, stomach was stiff from not using bathroom, and the vets stood there in front of us and said “He looks okay we will give him a “anti-nausea” med so he doesn’t keep throwing up everything we give him, like the water, high calorie paste, etc. 1.5 hours after being home he passed away. These vets seen a sick kitty, and completely neglected the fact it needed SERIOUS help. Even when talking to the vets, it’s not like the people at Butte Human, or the VCA, which are extremely kind, comforting, soft-tone, understanding people. These people at the Erickson Vet, simply were there because it was a job. You can hear no sympathy, no care, no nothing in their voice when speaking to you. I would stay far away from this vet, VCA is amazing, a bit expensive but it’s worth it, butte humane is a good place too. I will never bring another animal here, or suggest someone to come here. They killed my cat. simple as that. I have 5 cats as of now, would be 6 with the sweet sweet baby, but unfortunately it’s not. I know how to take care of cats, how to bottle feed, signs to look for when sick, everything there is to know to be able to care for a kitten. They neglected my baby jasper and I will never forget or forgive this place. Cold, heartless people. They also charged me $500 for the anti nausea meds and like 3 syringe tubes to take home with a bag of water for the syringes to give to him. $500 for the worst experience ever. Mind you i’ve been at ButteHumane and had a friend of mine, kittens put down for sad reasons, and dude, the vets start crying while doing it, they really care and it’s hard to sit there in pain, while vets like the ones at Erickson’s, have no emotion or care to give. It’s a sad world.

Wow, what a superb vet visit! We were nervous about our kitty so we called around. This vet got us in, same day for no additional charge. Every person we spoke to or interacted with was incredibly friendly and kind. They were reasonably priced and offered options for where they thought we could save some money. All-in-all, just a perfect visit.

Today I took my cat in and sad long story short she was very sick and had to be put down. Every one there was incredibly understanding and gentle to me even though I ended up being there an hour past closing and I know they had to stay even later to finish taking care of my girl. I can't stress enough how gentle and considerate they all were in my time of grief. Thank you a thousand times.
