(from Google)Bayview Animal Hospital is very reasonably priced and the location in Layton always has appointments available. We used to live in Bountiful and would drive to Layton for services and now we live in downtown SLC and drive even farther for services. We've never had a problem with quality of care and have used them over the last few years on 5 different dogs from a large great dane to a small french bulldog. The facility is large and newer with room to relieve your dogs before/after their appointments. They also have a special room and great process for end-of-life situations with your animals, should the need arise. I routinely recommend to anyone who will listen to leave their high priced inferior veterinary and go to the Layton office of Bayview.
I have taken my dog, Lucie, to Bayview in both Layton and Farmington. Lucie has always hated going to the vet. Until now! Brandy did a major tooth cleaning, which literally changed Lucie’s health for the better. Lucie loves Dr. Crane and Dr. Noyes and is happy to see them. The reception staff, including Polly and Shelby, are professional, interested, and helpful. Finally, the prices at Bayview are reasonable and less than I have been used to paying. A great find!
We’ve been bringing our pets here for over 15 years, and I truly can’t say enough good things about this clinic. The care, compassion, and consistency from the entire team over the years has been incredible. They have taken such wonderful care of our animals through every stage of life, from routine visits to the hardest end-of-life moments, and have always treated both our pets and our family with so much kindness and respect. Dr. White and several of the other Dr’s have all been absolutely wonderful to work with over the years. We have trusted each of them with our pets’ care and have always felt heard, supported, and confident in the treatment plans they provide. One thing that has meant a lot to us is how thoughtfully they handle end-of-life care. Knowing they have their own private crematory brought a huge amount of comfort during incredibly emotional times. It is just one more example of how much care and intention they put into everything they do. I also want to give a special shoutout to Shelby at the front desk. She is always so kind, calm, and genuinely comforting when I call in, whether I am stressed, have a million questions, or need help figuring out scheduling. Her voice alone brings down the anxiety level, and that kind of care matters more than people realize. The whole team is amazing, but Shelby is truly a gem and deserves to be recognized. We are so grateful to have a vet office we trust with our pets like family. 🐾
I am writing this review with a heavy heart, because Bayview Animal Hospital has been a part of my family’s life for decades. My parents started taking our pets to Bayview in the 1980s, back when Dr. White’s father was practicing. Dr. White himself has always been my go-to vet. The care, compassion, and kindness he has shown me and my animals over the years is something I will always be grateful for. He embodied what a family-run veterinary practice should be. Unfortunately, since Dr. White has stepped back from the clinic, Bayview has experienced a steady and heartbreaking decline. There is no consistency at the front desk, the wait times are horrendous, and the Layton clinic in particular feels like an absolute circus. Let me be clear: I continued to bring my pets to Bayview solely out of loyalty and love for Dr. White and his father. However, the doctors currently practicing there are actively damaging the legacy that those two great men worked so tirelessly to build. Most recently, my one-year-old Bernedoodle needed to be seen for an open wound. Dr. Smart refused to get her in and instead recommended that I try two other vets in the area. If Dr. White were still practicing the way he once did, I have absolutely no doubt he would have helped us. Sending a family who has been loyal to an establishment since the 1980s elsewhere when their pet needs care is, to me, appalling. The blatant disregard shown in that moment felt like a slap in the face to the White family’s legacy. This is not the first time something like this has happened. Each time, I came back because of my respect and love for the White family. But Bayview is no longer the same family-run business it once was. The staff appears to be heavily micromanaged by doctors who pick and choose who receives care, without regard for how long someone has been a patient. The Layton clinic staff are undertrained and, at times, outright rude. I will not be bringing my pets back to Bayview, and that decision truly hurts my heart to make. Dr. White, thank you for everything you have done for me and for my animals over the years. I will always be grateful for the compassion, care, and dedication you showed. It deeply saddens me to see the doctors and some of the staff now running these clinics undo the legacy you and your father built with such integrity and love.
Bayview is an amazing place with wonderful people. Our 13 1/2 year old dog we had actually scheduled for him to be seen and possibly euthanized on a Monday. Our vet was on vacation and things got real bad real fast on the Wednesday before so my husband called Bayview and they told us to bring him down. They did an examination and told us that it absolutely should be done as soon as possible. They were so compassionate and helpful for all three of us, and although it was a heartbreaking moment in mine and my husband‘s life, we really appreciated that Bayview was there for us and our sweet boy. I would recommend anybody who wanted an amazing vet to go to Bayview. Thank you so much all of you for making a very hard situation a little bit easier for all three of us. Thank you for letting us be very close and very involved in the last moments of our sweet boys life.
