(from Google)It’s rare in today’s world to come across a small business who still understands what it means to offer humanity, community, and care. . I took my 14 year old doggo to this vet in hopes of finding some small measure of these things after watching the chase for profit replace humanity in 2 other local businesses. In short, I was blown away. The team listened carefully, understood the reality of caring for an elderly pet, and made us both feel deeply seen. This is the first vet in my dog’s 14 years that she was not afraid to return to, even after having to have a minor surgery and some pretty uncomfortable procedures. Kudos to Dr. Bull and her whole team. (You guys are the best.). You will not be disappointed in the care you and your pet get if you chose this facility. They deserve 10 stars.
So glad we found Dr. Bull and her wonderful team! Dr. Bull and Chris were so gentle with our cat during her first appointment. They thoroughly explained her health and dental status and followed up to make sure we were comfortable with the results and treatment plan. Rachel was also incredibly helpful with our scheduling. We feel very confident bringing our pet here.
I was ready to change vets & looked for vets in my area. Louisville Family had good reviews. It was very easy to make an appointment online. The staff from the receptionist, to the tech & of course the veterinarian were all friendly, helpful & wanted to make sure my dog & I were good. As it was our first visit, they took a lot of information to clearly understand my dog’s immediate need for the visit. The vet explained the problem & provided me with immediate & future options, depending on how the issue clears up. I felt listened to & that my dog was cared for.
I took my cat Willow there a month ago with a urinary emergency. Ellie, Kris, and Dr Bull were all just fantastic. I was so stressed out and they were all super caring of Willow…and me! Thanks guys! Willow’s doing great!
Stay Away...I knew something was wrong before I even arrived. When I called to schedule the appointment and was told Dr. Tom had left, my stomach dropped. The tone was off. The warmth was gone. I remember thinking “uh oh” — and I should have listened to that instinct. My appointment with Alicia Malet confirmed every fear I had. From the moment we met, the interaction felt cold, rushed, and unsettling. She took my dog out of the room, presented an estimate before properly examining him, and treated the entire visit like a transaction — not medical care. I cannot emphasize this enough: I very nearly walked out. The only reason I didn’t was because my dog needed urgent help and I felt trapped — emotionally and medically — into continuing with someone I already did not trust. When I asked questions (because this is my dog and his health matters), I was met with: vague, textbook answers no real-world explanation visible annoyance and looks that made me feel foolish for advocating for my own pet It felt like watching someone apply veterinary jargon instead of clinical judgment — as if checking boxes in a manual mattered more than the actual dog in front of her. I explicitly explained that my dog has a known sensitivity to steroids. This was brushed off. There was no nuanced discussion, no collaborative decision-making — just a one-size-fits-all approach and an inflated bill. I left that appointment feeling sick to my stomach, questioning myself, questioning my judgment, and deeply unsettled. That alone should tell you how poor the care was. What followed was devastating: my dog’s ear condition worsened after this visit it ultimately ruptured in a way multiple veterinarians later told me they had “never seen before” I spent months dealing with the emotional and financial fallout And here’s the part that says everything about this clinic now: No one ever called to check on my dog. Not once. No follow-up. No concern. No accountability. The overall environment was just as troubling: staff were visibly sick and coughing the receptionist and techs appeared unwell a vet tech I later spoke with by phone was rude and dismissive The contrast between this clinic and the care my dog later received elsewhere was staggering. The treatment that finally healed him cost less than a single visit here and involved compassion, explanation, and actual clinical experience. Louisville Family Animal Hospital is not the place it used to be. Since Dr. Tom left, something fundamental has broken. If you ever feel the urge to walk out of a vet appointment — listen to it. I wish I had. I would never trust Alicia Malet with my dog again, and I strongly caution anyone considering this clinic to look elsewhere. Stay Away
