Super nice staff. They truly care about your animals. Explain the fee process and surgeries if your animal is having any kind of procedure.

Do not bring your pets here if you love them. We have been going to Sunshine for 8 years. We will never be going back. Over the years, quality of care has gone downhill. Staff has become lazier. And most of all, Dr. Mainka has become lazy, dismissive, and downright negligent. Our dog recently started limping, and we took her in for a checkup immediately. Dr. Mainka felt her hips and legs and said "yep, its arthritis!" No Xrays, just made a diagnosis off of "feel". I asked if there was a way to confirm that, and she said no. I asked if Xrays were an option, and she got annoyed and snippy with me. She said Xrays would need to be while my dog is under sedation, because the type of Xray would be impossible to do while shes awake. I said we would do the Xrays, and her and her assistant made jabs at me for it. While checking out (and paying $300 for a false diagnosis and meds) I asked the vet assistant if the meds would help her enough within the two weeks leading up to the Xrays, and if they helped enough, if we could cancel the Xrays. She snapped at me with "Well, WE dont want to do the Xrays, YOU DO. So thats on you!" I was shocked and said i just didnt want to BLINDLY diagnose something without proof! She shut up after that. We gave our dog the meds they provided for 3 weeks, and she only got worse. So we went to a new vet and got a second opinion. This vet was able to do Xrays that day, WITHOUT sedation, and was shocked Dr. Mainka suggested sedation for simple Xrays. She was also shocked she diagnosed it as arthritis when the limping happened so suddenly! Our dog has a TORN ACL LIGAMENT! NOT arthritis. And has been in pain for weeks, with a false diagnosis, due to Dr. Mainka's laziness and dismissal. She was more worried about being "right" and knowing more than me, than my dogs wellbeing. Talk about ego. To make matters worse, this is NOT the first time she has misdiagnosed our dog. It has just never been anything this severe in the past, so we let it go. I have a lot of regret for trusting our dogs with her now. Oh, if you're a rabbit owner, don't go here either! They almost killed my bunny when spaying her. They require you to fast your rabbit before surgery, and any rabbit owner knows that is completely wrong. You do not fast a rabbit. They also tried to charge us for "watching her overnight" after the surgery, but when i called, they admitted no one stays overnight to keep an eye on the animals. So they charge people hundreds of dollars to "watch them overnight" and leave them completely unattended overnight in a cage. I picked her up early, and she had full blown GI stasis (they didnt even notice!). I stayed up with her overnight and had to force syringe feed her every 2 hours for days before she came back to life. If i had left her overnight at Sunshine, she would've been dead by morning. Overall, it pains me to be so harsh on them, because I know this isn't an easy job. But you can't let laziness hurt your patients, you cant treat people horribly when they're paying you thousands of dollars to do your job properly, and unfortunately, they've been getting worse about it all over the years. I would never trust them with my pets again, and I will never be back. The lower cost is not worth your animals lives, let alone the fact you end up paying more having to go back so many times due to wrong diagnoses. So if you actually love your pets, stay clear.

Super nice people, very helpful and accommodating, and knowledgeable about snakes. I brought my boa and ball python in over the years and they took great care of them. They even helped us board a ball python when we went on vacation.

Amazing vet! Dr Mike has seen all my fur babies. Her and her staff show great compassion and a love of animals that shows through their work. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my babies.

We're new to the area & just had our first visit to this clinic over the past 2 weeks. Getting a kitten shots & fixing 😏 Our visits went perfect! Everything went as they'd prepared us for. I like that they keep them overnight for these surgeries. As much as we were worried about her, I do think it was important. She's home now and doing great!
