Brinkerhoff Large Animal Clinic

A true master. My dog has cysts that need removing about once a year, and I've taken him to vets in NY, CT, MA, and two here in St George, including a vet dermatologist, as we've moved around the country. All the other vets said they could only be removed through surgery under anesthesia, and we did many surgeries. After some of those surgeries, my dog would be crying for several days from the pain (despite medication). Dr Max was able to remove several cysts without surgery and with minimal pain (using a clever assistant distracting the dog with a constant stream of tiny treats). Finally today we ran into one that wasn't amenable to his technique, so he also had to do a surgery. But I could tell immediately after how much better my dog felt than after any prior surgery. On top of all this, he charges less than many other vets. He's from an older generation of approach to veterinary medicine, possibly less "by the book," but more creative and clearly extremely experienced and has excellent judgment. He's worth the wait.

He is the best he takes care of all of our cows and goats. He is amazing.

I have used Brinkerhoff many times over the past 30 years and have been satisfied with their service until today. We had a 18 year old cat that we loved dearly that needed to be put to sleep due to health reasons. It took our family a few months to make this decision. I called Brinkerhoff to make an appointment but unfortunately they couldn’t do it for several weeks. I made an appointment with them but I also called another clinic. The other clinic was so understanding and said “we can fit you in when you are ready - we know how hard of a decision this is”. We were able to make an appointment within a few days that worked for my family to all be there. It was a very sad day but the other local clinic was so kind so it helped to ease our sadness. I got a call today from Brinkerhoff to remind me of our appointment tomorrow. I told her that since we couldn’t get into them sooner that we need to cancel our appointment. The lady who called was so rude saying “it would have been so much better if you had let us know”. She didn’t voice her condolences to us just got upset that we didn’t cancel earlier. I was letting them know a day in advance and to be honest it’s been a rough week grieving our cat Mia that I didn’t think of the other appointment. Rest in peace Mia

Reasonable rates for prevention care, easy to schedule appointments, and the owners of animals leave with a sense of relief in knowing their pet(s) received professional care. He can take care of even larger pets like horses. Even when emergencies occur, Dr. Brinkerholf is prompt and will take good care of you and your pet!
