I had a wonderful experience bringing my dog, Auggie, in for vaccine updates and grooming. Dr. Anthony Melillo was gentle, thorough, and took the time to answer all of my questions. His team was especially mindful of minimizing Auggie's stress, using distraction techniques like treats to keep him comfortable throughout the visit. Thanks to their care, I'm confident he'll be genuinely excited to return rather than dreading the vet the way so many dogs do. The receptionists are consistently kind, welcoming, and accommodating as well. If you're looking for both a primary veterinarian and a groomer, this is the place. I'm grateful to have such a great team for my boy!

Dr. Melillo and the team at Heart and Paws are wonderful. I know this has been a dream of his for a long time and I'm happy to see it come true. I've known Dr Melillo and trusted him with my own animals for over 8 years. He is seen many of my animals and Foster animals over the years. I have trusted him with every single one through ups and downs cancer and puppy Hood. Dr Melillo is top-notch not only with pet parents but with the pets themselves. I followed him from previous clinics to this new one and I'm thankful that I have. No shade to his old Clinic I love them too but Dr m is just that good. I highly recommend Dr Melillo to anyone in the area looking for a top-notch vet that isn't going to nickel and dime you to death or lie to you or upsell you on things you don't need. Our pitbulls and cats have been long time patients of Dr Mellilo. We are so grateful of the care he has always given our animals and respect to us as pet owners. We have followed him to Heart & Paw in St. Petersburg, and so glad we did! The staff is also absolutely wonderful! The facilities are beautiful and so well equipped for total veterinary care. I cannot say enough amazing things about Heart + Paw, because they truly saved my peace of mind. I have a thirteen year old Chihuahua with a grade three heart murmur, and my previous vet honestly made me feel like a bad dog mom, which was heartbreaking because I have spent his whole life trying to give him the absolute best. I heard about Dr. Melillo and decided to reach out about a month ago when I heard they were opening. Even though they were not open yet, they emailed me back immediately to welcome me, and they actually kept their promise to update me the second they opened so I could get him in. From the moment we walked into this beautiful, clean clinic, I knew we were in the right place. We were brought to a room right away and met Jaclynn, who is easily the most compassionate vet professional I have ever encountered. She sat with me and explained their customizable wellness plans, which are so refreshing because you can build them as you go and change things based on what your dog actually needs. When Dr. Melillo came in, he did not just stand there, he immediately got right down on the floor to greet my anxious little guy and calm him down. Seeing the doctor and Jaclynn care so deeply and treat my senior dog with such patience and tenderness meant the world to me. For the first time in a long time, I felt validated and supported as a pet parent. I also have to thank Haley at the front desk, who was incredibly patient and sweet, helping me transfer my records and sorting out an account issue with total grace. I signed up for their plan on the spot, and as soon as my puppy's plan at our other vet expires, I am moving her here too. Dealing with a senior pet is hard, but this incredible team put my mind completely at ease, and I finally know my sweet boy is getting the genuine care and love he deserves.

I took my Scottish Terriers in for grooming, and they looked absolutely adorable with their bandanas afterward. The groomer is certified and has earned numerous grooming awards, and it shows in the quality of her work. She treats my boys with care and professionalism, and they came home looking fantastic. I was especially impressed that Dr. Melillo personally gave me a tour of the new facility. Every detail thoughtfully planned with the animals comfort in mind, from quiet grooming and exam rooms for dogs with anxiety, to separate waiting and treatment areas for cats so they aren’t stressed by dogs. The recovery area also stood out. Instead of traditional cages, they have climate-controlled recovery kennels that provide both heating and air conditioning, creating a calm and comfortable space for pets recovering from procedures. It’s obvious that Dr. Melillo is passionate about providing exceptional care while reducing stress for every pet.
