BREEDERS BEWARE! They do not like breeders at this place. I used this place for decades past with no issue. I recently purchased an exotic French bulldog and, took her there for a Bordetella shot. After taking one look at my dog (big rope fluffy) they immediately tried to discourage me from breeding pointing out possible genetic health issues. This puppy is not even 12 weeks old and they already wanted to discuss spaying her. So, they took her in the back. They apparently don’t treat/examine dogs in front of the owners for some strange reason. When they bring her back out, they say she has a raging heart murmur. Unbeknownst to them she was 6 panel clear and cleared by the vet ( specifically or heart murmur) less than a week prior to my visit. I did overly extensive research on this dog’s health before purchasing her. They even had the nerve to tell the breeder over the phone that neither the puppy, nor the parents are fit to breed. Created an extremely stressful situation for me, the breeder, and his veterinarian. Fast-forward, I took her to Fox Lake animal Hospital the same day for a second opinion. Actually had two doctors there, listen to her heart and, both say no murmur! I think that’s extremely odd that 1 doctor hears a raging heart murmur (5/6) and three other doctors hear no heart murmur at all. In the past, I have faithfully trusted them with my pets healthcare needs, but after this situation I will likely be finding a new vet. For the record, Fox Lake animal Hospital was great! Only drawback is that they are walk-in only and double as an ER so, wait times can be extremely long.

Dr. Hanover amd staff are so amazing! They are super helpful, very kind. They all love your animals and take the time with you to hear all your concerns you have. He has helped my with my Dog Bailey and my Horse Gizmo. He is the best vet I know and we have had other vets before they didn't do a great job like Dr. Hanover does. I recommend to everyone I know. He's super detailed in his work and he doesn't rush through things like other vets do. We love the work you do Dr Hanover. Thank you so much.

This place is an absolute joke, I understood some of the issues when Covid hit, with several visits with the older doctor, he couldn’t remember a thing about our Bichon Milo, he needs to be gone this time, he tried telling us that Milo had Cushing, he was so wrong and because of his lack of just common decency his misdiagnose killed, took Milo to the animal emergency hospital in Grayslake we’re helpful. Milo was severe diabetic to a point that his organs were shutting down and it was a hard decision to make, and the most cruel I lost all my face in that place the Gurnee, the animal hospital Ollies absolute a joke. I know that we’re supposed to forgive, but even though it’s been three years since my old passed, I just can’t find it in my heart yet to forgive him the time they cared about money and getting you out of there as fast as possible and I say this now because even time I see Sean or mix Sean I just cry. We all miss Michael so much was incredible dog loving took care of us. We took care of him all I can say is I hope that he can look at himself in the mirror every day and no he’s probably killed others because he didn’t take the time and just expected us to believe any and everything he says because he’s a doctor (but is he and because I don’t even know if that’s what you call him I miss my love more and more every day. I don’t believe in replacing, but I think I’m ready for another dog now.

Fair prices compared to others. They offer boarding and grooming services on top of your typical veterinarian stuff. I am updating my review since I have been coming here for a few years now. Since then, they seem to have gotten busier but they are still efficient. I've never had to wait very long for our appointment and I've never had to stay longer than expected. Overall I would highly recommend!!

Thank you to Rachel and the rest of the absolutely wonderful staff here. I had to go through the horrible task of saying goodbye to my precious 14 year old cat, Sophie, today. They were so kind and even though so incredibly busy, squeezed me in so that my sweet girl could finally be put to rest. They truly made this horrible choice so much less traumatic for both myself and Sophie, and I can't thank them enough for that. ❤
