I’ve been a client at this vet’s office for over 12 years, and unfortunately one phone call was enough to make me switch practices. I called because my dog was sick and was told they couldn’t see her for two days. No walk-in options were offered, just “call tomorrow and maybe we can get her in,” which was incredibly stressful given the situation. On top of that, the receptionist couldn’t find my dog’s record and asked if she had ever been seen there before, even after I explained she has been going there consistently for 12 years. The tone throughout the call felt rude, dismissive, and annoyed, rather than empathetic or helpful. I understand being busy, and I wasn’t in the best mood either because my dog was unwell, but basic kindness and professionalism matter, especially in a veterinary setting. Sadly, this experience overshadowed many years of being a loyal client, and I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere

Our dog was a client for the past 4 years. Routine visits, plus allergies, surgeries (ate a diaper), major orthopedic issues, etc, etc. Throughout that time we were helped by every doctor there. Each and every visit the doctors and the entire staff were patient, kind, and took a true interest in figuring out the best path of care for our dog. Thank you to the Porters Neck Vet team! Highly recommend.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this awesome veterinary practice. I have brought my dogs here for years and years. Dr. Matt and I go waaay back to his WBVH days and I trust him implicitly. He has helped my family gently say goodbye to our pets and his compassion is second to none. Matt is a vet who will carefully explain everything your pet needs to be well and recover. The entire practice is run very well and I always feel welcome. Thanks to everyone who gives their time and energy.

Dr Carey and staff have been more than helpful, kind and professional throughout my experience. My chihuahua Mango was heartbreakingly diagnosed with lymphoma. She has been in treatment and doing well for about 6 months and going strong! I feel Dr Carey is just as invested in Caring about Mango as myself, as well as the supportive staff who shower Mango with love and affection when she is in the vet several hours for her injections. Gratitude!🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

You know they care. It's always been a great visit. Our 3 cats and our 7 year old pit are healthier since we take them there. Thanks to DR Matt and his team.
