(from Google)Long overdue review. My dog absolutely loves Atlas Doghouse. On days I take him there, I always use a red leash, which is only ever used for taking him to Atlas. As soon as he sees me pick up the red leash, he starts spinning around in circles and jumping up and down. On our walk over, he'll run the entire way, and then try to dash into the daycare facility. It's very comforting to see just how eager he is to go there.
Where do I begin to rave about this doggie daycare. I was visiting my friend in DC and brought my fur-daughter Ainsley along. It was colder this visit so less dog friendly options so daycare was needed so my dog could have some play time with other pups. I'm from Wisconsin so I was hesistant leaving my pup in the care of someone else (This place had the best reviews in my friends neighborhood). Nicolle the manager answered all my questions before the first day to calm my nerves and was so kind. Nicolle took Ainsley on her first day to observe her and sent me pictures and updates. All the staff was so kind and great with my fur-daughter. Ainsley made friends (I could tell how they all barked at her from the outside window). I cried leaving on her last day knowing Ainsley had a great time and made new friends. My pup attended doggie daycare four times during our visit. Just a great experience! We will be back again. Thank you Atlas staff for doing a great job and being so kind to me & my little one. You all deserve raises! 5 stars 🌟
I cannot rave enough about Atlas! Jack arrived in DC a very timid, traumatized Alabama shelter puppy and his first obedience class was with Atlas owner Danny. He and his colleague Thomas helped us build Jack's confidence and he has blossomed into a very happy dog. We were thrilled when Danny opened a "doghouse" down the street where Jack can play while we returned to the office. He runs into the lobby every morning tail wagging and excited. Manager Nicole is one of his all-time favorite people; ours too as she refills the dog poop bags when she notices it's empty and sends "report cards" during the day with pictures.
Amazing daycare, amazing staff, and amazing training services. We leave our two dogs here 1-2 times a week as needed and have no worries at all. There is always someone watching the dogs, and they have a clear, effective, and humane protocol for dealing with the dogs. Watching from the windows, you can tell that the dogs are happy and relaxed. My dogs always come home happy and exhausted after a day of daycare. There is also a very generous timeframe for picking up your pups to accommodate work schedules. The training services are also top-notch. Thomas is a very skilled, educated and caring trainer. It's obvious he cares very much for all of his furry little students and he does a great job of attending to their needs. We've have been dealing with a barking issue for years and just one session with Thomas has resulted in improvement. He provides a range of options, educates you, and helps you develop a plan of action. I highly recommend Atlas!
Our dog has been an Atlas regular since 2019, and I'm so thrilled they opened their third location close to our home. Our bud loves it there-- sometimes he loves the people more than the dogs, but he always enjoys being part of the pack-- and I wouldn't take him anywhere else. The staff is great and they all clearly love the dogs, and I can't say enough wonderful things about Danny and Kate and the entire Atlas team. The new space is big and sunny (perfect for my guy who likes to hang out in the window and watch the world go by) and in a fantastic location. We also board our dog at Atlas (exclusively-- he doesn't stay anywhere else!) and he's always happy and sleepy when we come to pick him up. As he's getting older and requires a little more attention and medication, I know I can trust the team at Atlas to give him extra hugs with his extra "treats". Atlas is not a daycare that asks you to pay extra to love your buddy! I can't recommend Atlas-- and the Capitol Hill location-- enough.
